Who has the better Defense KU WIS GT

Speaking of the two conferances......

The Big Ten may not be better than the Big Twelve this year but its not like the Big Ten was horrible, the press and many people on the boards all talk about the weakness of the Big Ten, and although it is a down year, there are a few points i would like to make.

We are not talking about the Big Ten against Kansas or even Davidson but what we are talking about is Wisconsin against Kansas or Davidson. A perfect example of a team who is better than most inside their conferance is Davidson, who just happens to be in the sweet sixteen. The Badgers are a solid team having beaten many great teams and that includes inside the Big Ten. Indiana before the loss of their coach was a solid and ranked team with loads of talent, two of the best players in the nation. Michigan State has lots of talent aswell and showed it in their recent tournement games, having beaten Pitt and Temple two solid teams. Even Purdue was a great team this year, didnt do well in the toury, but in the regular season they were a good team, cracking the top 25. (I know we did lose to them Twice, one was a fluke because we never lose at home, and the other was hard faught game which we came out on the short end) The Badgers were the class of the Big Ten winning both the regular season and tournament title.

This is not to take away from Kansas and the Big Twelve, to me the Big Twelve has a few very good teams. The top includes, Texas, Kasas state, Oklahoma, Teas A&M, and Kansas themselves, (sorry if I missed anyone, im going from memory), Against the big Teams Kansas has a mixed track record, winning and lossing to both Texas and KSU, The Badgers have beaten both, either on a neutral court or on the road.

Kansas and Wisconsin are good, i think we all realize this even if we are not willing to admit it, if and thats a big if , if they do meet up with eachother in the elite eight, the game will be hard to miss and a fun one to match.

If I were a Badgers fan/student/alum I would be slightly more concerned with Davidson, then how you match up against KU.

I'm not one to waste time talking about previous success (or not )in the tourney...that really doesn't matter RIGHT NOW.......now does it?

KU is obviously one of the top basketball schools/traditions in the entire country...that, no one can argue with. I think WISC is a great basketball team, but like I said before....focus on Davidson first. I can promise you that KU has 100% focus on Villanova and winning that game and advancing. That's how this tournament is played. So, I appreciate all the Badger fans enlightening us with their thoughts on a KU v. WISC match-up, but I think you all need to wait a few more days before that line of dialogue even makes sense.

I have a little news for you biggie, if you want to talk about a wisconsin vs Davidson matchup go to a different thread, no one here said that Wisconsin would cake walk over Davidson. We understand that they are the team currently infront of us, and if we wish to look ahead , we can look ahead.

This thread started talking about who has a better D and turned into a comparison between Wisconsin and Kansas, with Wisconsin and Kansas fans talking and conversing with eachother.

Get over it, because right NOW it does matter, because it is what we want to talk about.

Bhark4-  You make some great points.  Wisconsin is a great team in a down conference this year.  I watch A LOT of college basketball.  I was very impressed with Wisconsin when I watched them beat Texas in the non-conference (without Flowers was it?)  I can't quite remember but I know they were missing a great player.

I also caught quite a few Big 10 matchups on Tuesday nights because I was in a situation where watching basketball was the only thing to do.  No offence, but those Big 10 games were sooo hard to watch.  The teams just don't score that much.  It's not that they aren't talented, they just grind it out against each other for some reason.  There is no doubt that Wisconsin is the best at this though.

The one problem I have with the comments you made are that you are someone who doesn't follow the Jayhawks closely (understandable).  The "mixed" track record includes 3 losses.  The first came against Kansas State, a team you are familar with a little now.  They hadn't beaten us in 24 years at their building and with a talented team in a very hostile environment, it was honestly about time.  Then there is the loss on Big Monday to Texas at their place.  We lost by two points in a game where they shot lights out.  A road loss to a team like Texas doesn't need much explanation.  The final loss was @ OK St.  A "bad loss' to some, but for those that watch the Big 12, they know that winning at Gallagher Iba arena is one of the toughest things to do in college basketball.  Might I add that Okie State was on a roll at that time too.  So there it is, KU(and most teams) go through a rough patch of games like that.  But they are back.  Another thing I will mention is that, there is a reason K-State was an 11 seed.  While they had the best player in the nation on their team, they weren't a great TEAM like KU and Wisconsin are.  I just hope that Wisconsin fans understand that we are worlds better than K-State.

I'm getting really excited for this potential matchup.  Good luck against Davidson because I really would like to see this play out. 

P.S.- I agree with some of you.  As fans, we can look ahead all we want.  It's just the players that can't and I really doubt any of them are.
