Personally I am ecstatic that we did not get Mare. But we did make him an offer. There have been many free agents that have had offers from the Broncos over the past few years but signed elsewhere.

Do you remember when free agents would take less money to come here. Certainly if the money was the commiserate it was a no brain-er they would come to Denver. It seems as though we have lost the aura that was the Broncos. Yes players wanted to play with Elway, but the Broncos gave them the best chance to win.

Nothing that a couple of good seasons and a great QB can't solve.

Oh wait....We just need a couple of good seasons now.

I dont think we are really that far away from returning to that form.  The biggest reason for the poor showing last year was the defensive scheme.  You can have all the talent in the world but if you dont play to their strengths greats become good, good becomes average and average becomes bad.  Not to mention tweaking the scheme each week to try and sure up holes.  Our linebacker situation will be much improved, our defensive line position is much imporved with the additional experience the rookies have had this year and Ekuban coming back healthy.  Safety position is upgraded with some depth.  We have the best group of corners in the league.  Our D will be much better this year.
