What do you guys think about Kenny Phillips, S from Miami? UM always produces playmakers on defense. I think our Safety position is a need as well concerning the constant burning of our secondary.

He's a big rangy safety who is sure to be a starter at the NFL level. He is definitely an Ed Reed type of player. However, I think the Bucs need to address their offensive woes in the 1st round and worry about defense in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I think we can wait another year for a QB. I am not overly impressed with any of the QB's this year. I don't think they would be an improvement over McCown.

Hmm...

Given Tanard Jackson, Jermaine Phillips and Sabby Piscitelli (whom we only know gets injured a bit), I don't think it would be a bad move- Could have one helluva dime package.

We don't need really need at the safety position considering we have Tanard Jackson, Jermaine Phillips and Sabby Piscitelli. Oh ya don't forget Will Allen and Eugene Wilson. Phillips is a great ball player but he is a first round pick and we are going WR, LB, DE, or Brian Brohm in the first round.

We have plenty of depth at LB and QB to truely say we will draft either of those.

I say CB, DL and WR will be the 1st round priority.

Since 1st round WR's are busts more often than not, why not grab the best Safety in the draft rather than the 3rd or 4th CB, DL or WR at #20? It worked for Jacksonville last year.

How is Safety a need??? When did the secondary get burned last year? Philips and Jackson were probably the best safety duo in the league and we were number one against the pass. What were you watching?

We need a young corner, not a safety. We have Jermaine Phillips, Tanard Jackson. We also have Sabby Piscatelli coming back healthy. He is the one most people compare to a young John Lynch with more speed. He is also the one they though might bust into the starting lineup before his injury, not Tanard Jackson. About the only thing we need at safety is another youngster for depth and special teams play. Besides we signed Eugene Wilson from NE who can play corner and Safety.

Safety is the least of our concerns. Our needs our: WR, CB, then DL and OL depth

I think our Safety position is a need as well concerning the constant burning of our secondary.

Well, I don't know if you guys know this but ahhhh....the Bucs were first against the pass last year with an average of 170 yds allowed a game...that's not too bad! Safety is not tops on my list!

On the other side of the ball, they were much farther down the list in passing...and a lot of those yards came on big plays to Galloway NOT from a cosistent passing attack. If Matt Ryan doesn't do a Brady Quinn draft day tumble and fall to #20, DeSean Jackson or Mario Maningham are the two guys I'm looking at in the first round.

Aside from Phillips, the safety position is relatively thin...wait until next year. Corner, DE, RB, Tackle and WR are deep this year....Bucs can fortify all of the above in this years draft!

Our three starting LB's: Cato June, Derrick Brooks, and Barrett Rudd are good. Our only decent backup is Quincy Black-thats why LB is more than a need then safety. Again, Jeff Garcia is good and the rest suck, again more of a need then safety.
