LMAO......I'm sorry, but that was freakin' funny! And oh my God, if you couldn't just close your eyes and picture that whiny, "about-to-cry" look Caliperi gets on his face, and hear that tone in his voice that says "if anyone else even looks at us for too long I am gonna bawl"....dead on Mike!
I'm not a Memphis lover, not a Memphis hater...in fact, I couldn't give less of a damn what they do, have done, or will ever do. But seriously, Caliperi needs to really just shut up, send his team onto the court, and sit back and read the articles and quotes dissing him and his team while the game goes on.

This article was spot on and hilarious. It boggles my mind how a team that has been rated no worse than No. 3 in the country at anytime this year can say they are disrespected. Calipari actually said they "weren't suppose to win" against Texas so they were just going to go out and have some fun. Did he forget who was the No. 1 seed and who was the No. 2 seed? They are really good, but man it's annoying listening to that team whine.

Of course the Selection Committee regarded the Tigers highly: that is an organization that knows basketball and knows what it's talking about. But if you think Memphis hasn't actually been dissed, you must not read all that much. Or watch TV. Or listen to the radio. Memphis has been either jabbed underhandedly or flat out lambasted from just about every angle in the media for last two months, and it shouldn't be a surprise that Calipari wants to defend his team against these hacks. You think you're annoyed by hearing Memphis whine about disrespect? I guess you can imagine how annoyed they were hearing about their conference, their free throw shooting, their "streeball" offense, their lack of discipline, their "selfish" attitudes, etc. It's all garbage, and it's uninformed pseudo-bloggers like Freeman that have been keeping these lies alive. Kudos to Cal for motivating his team and sticking it to stupid sportswriters at the same time.

I understand pickin' on Calipari a bit, because he is a bit of a whiner .... but I have to admit, I've been shocked at how little respect (sorry, can't think of another word to use) Memphis has gotten this tournament ... I mean, they lost one friggin' game this year! But to hear most people talk, it was surprising they weren't out the first game. Don't understand it myself, but I guess the best way to "show 'em" is to keep your mouth shut and just win out.

As a Memphis fan, I have taken everything Freeman has said since the Miss. State game with a grain of salt, but that was pretty funny!

The funny part about anyone saying that we are playing the disrespected card is simply hiding under a rock. Look at any national sports station and when you hear them talk about the tigers they only have negative things to say. For the past 3 years we have be the upset special of all the high seeds. Where have you been living if you have seen that your self.
Freeman you are just made and cant accept you where totally off base with your story last week. And1 ballers.........lol.....Cal calls you out at the press conference and you come back with this. Apparently you dont know basketball if that is all you see in the offense. You come and try and run the point in practice. That would be the joke of the year.

Amen! I have had enough of Calipari and his mouth. Less of him and his mouth, the better. The reason nobody wants Memphis to win is that they will have to listen to his mouth, and he is one of the biggest boors in sports.

Wow, so easily humored by ranting journalists who should be writing for a grade school newspaper. Fact is, Memphis has been tagged as over-rated by the media, the fans, the coaches, and others all year. The only personality that has gotten it right so far is Digger! All you hear is "Memphis can't hit free throws, Memphis plays in a horrible conferance, they will be the 1st number 1 to exit, (still might), likely to lose to Miss State, can't get by Mich State, Texas will outlast Memphis, Coach Cal does not know x''s & o's.
Yes Memphis has gotten the respect in the polls and in the seeds, but that is not what Cal is referring to. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, no argument there, but when your opinions turn out to be wrong, and you get called on it, take it like a man, or a woman!
Sorry your team getting put out has gotten you so upset!
