Hey Bulldog fans,

I know a bunch of you are disappointed at not playing K-State but I really think R.U. will give you a better game and will be ranked higher than KSU when the season ends.   Plus, you get some east coast exposure with the media.

For those of you traveling, would you rather visit Manhattan, KS or Manhattan, NY?  Ask your wives and girlfriends that question and just make sure you put a cap on your credit cards before the ladies go shopping.

Ya know, you just may be right about RU being ahead of K-State when it is all said and done.  I'll take that as a garantee Desertcat.

And about the credit cards, I just may have to go shopping with her.  What are some good shops in Manhattan anyway?  Say good bye to the college fund.

Great news, it's always good to see the Dogs playing nationally recognized teams.  Rutgers has had its best seasons as of late and it should be a good, season-opening matchup.

I was in Manhattan, NY last summer.  And I drove through Manhattan, Kansas to get there.  I'll take the former any day.  But it will definitely be a lot more expensive for any Bulldog fans wanting to travel.

yea the only thing that disapoints me about this game is that I have to wait an extra 2 weeks to see a live game. Definatly cant afford tickets to NY. should be a good game but I sure am glad Rice is gone.

Marcus my friend,

You can just take her to 5th avenue in midtown - enough shopping to last you for the year. If you want something edgier, than you can head downtown to SoHo and the village. Heck, you probably will want to skip shopping and just hit the pubs.

In any case, you'll have a good time. You can stay in Manhattan and get down south to the Rutgers campus in 40 minutes by train. Shuttles from the train station take you right to the football stadium.

I think this is a way better game for Fresno State.  We beat K-State at K-State and at home...they did not want to go 0-3 against us.  Rutgers will be ranked ahead of K-State at the beginning, middle and end of next season...K-State stinks.

Unfortuneately, Fresno State has a ridiculous schedule next season -- Rutgers away, Wisconsin at home, UCLA away, Toledo away and you can't forget Boise away...we have to win at least 3 of those five to have a shot at being ranked by year's end.  If we have any chance of being BCS bound, we probably can't afford to lose any.  I like the fact we moved UCLA to later (after they play Tennessee).

Best of all, as a 'Dog fan living in Maryland -- this is an easy road trip to NJ.  Should be a great game!!!

I like the idea of playing on the East Coast.  It's definitely good exposure for the program and Rutgers should be a good opponent.  I just don't like the idea of it being the first game of the season.  I'd rather being playing our first game at home and then travelling to NJ.  However, if the Dogs can go to Rutgers and win, they'll gain some confidence coming home to play Wisconsin.  I'd just hate to start off what looks like a very promising season at 0-2.

As a Rutgers fan, I'm happy to see us playing a real opponent to open the season. I have alot of respect for Fresno State's program and especially Coach Hill.  The Bulldogs have earned much respect around the country, and we're happy to welcome them to NJ.  A nationally televised game on Labor Day is a terrific way to start the season for both teams.

You are correct my man. I am Bulldog Born and bread. I thought that if we got this game that it would be a lesser game than Kansas St would've been. However I wuld have to say that after reveiwng all the info that this game is actually a great ame. It pits two up in coming programs against one another and to kick off the season on national television s going to be great. What a game its going to be much respect to Rutgers hopefully th game  labor day wil be a good one. Go Dogs.
