I thought I would be jumping on to a more excited board but I guess you guys are more like the Lakers fans from the last 2 years ago(not around).
Anyway, after watching the complete domination by the new look Suns of your Nuggets, I realized that Carmelo Anthony is the most overated player in the NBA. He can hit an open shot from time to time and make a nice layup/dunk when open, but thats about it. He cant defend, rebound, assist, shoot for percentage and when he gets muscled around the glass his shots don't seem to fall.
Any Denver Nuggets fans feel likewise?
Now The Answer is for real. No doubt about that, so I am not just on here hating. It was just an observation.

Leave it to a cum devil fan to come on here and start causing controversy. I agree that Melo could improve his D and ability to drive hard to the hoop, but how is he overrated? If anything, it just means that he hasn't played to his absolute potential yet, which is a scary thought to other teams. Give him a break he's only 23 or something. Plus, just look at his numbers; 25.5 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.5 apg. Isn't he the 4th leading scorer in the NBA? Overrated??
I would guess the board is quiet because we live in Denver, not the endless clusterf**k of urban sprawl and highway you call Phoenix. Maybe we're skiing instead of sitting in our AC in front of our computers because its not too hot to go outside in April in Denver.
I almost pity people who go to asu, it must be tough to deal with so much herpes .

That's why they play a whole season, one game doesn't tell the story. By the way Melo double-doubled last night and led the Nuggets in rebounds. Only Amare Stoudemire and Shaq had more rebounds (which is how it should be).
Just a few reasons Carmelo Anthony is NOT overrated...
4th overall in points per game - not bad considering everyone ahead of him has more minutes per game.
Like all the other top scoring/highly rated players (besides Amare) he can shoot 3-pointers, currently over 32%.
His shooting percentage is better than Dirk Nowitzki, Dwayne Wade, Manu Ginobli, Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant and Baron Davis to name a few.
For the season Melo is averaging 7.4 rebounds per game, ahead of Rasheed Wallace, Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter... He's got more rebounds per game than 50% of the starting centers in the league and more rebounds per game than 75% of the starting forwards.
The main reason Melo is so valuable, because he is tough when someone's on him, he's great in the post, and can take on anyone one on one. I'll give you the fact that double-teams force him to take bad shots. (but that's what a double team is for)
I won't say you're on here hating, but one game isn't going to give you enough info to come in here and start dissing Melo.

That desert Heat must be having an effect on your judgment. Too much peyote and cactus juice.

If you want to go by just one game, why don't you look back a little further to the previous Suns/Nuggets game in Denver. Anthony had 30 points on 12 of 20 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. He was a beast in that game.
Aside from just looking at one game and all the stats previous posters mentioned, don't forget that Coach K said he was the best player on Team USA last year. Sure, his defense isn't great, but aside from Kobe, name one superstar player that does play defense (and I'm not talking big men here). Anthony's defense is no worse than Lebron's, Wade's or any other similar player you care to mention.
