Cincy finally did what we all knew was coming and released Chris Henry.  He had a chance to be a star and messed it up.

I think now the Bengals might be considering a WR on the first day of the draft to try and prepare for the future. With Chads antics and T.J.'s unsure contract situation, i wouldnt be suprised to see them grab one in round 2.

The Bengals today waived WR Chris Henry.

Bengals president Mike Brown issued the following statement:

"Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.

"The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the same time we tried to help a young man.

"But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team."

About time. Even if the changes turn out to be false, his "body of work" is reason enough

Good move for the Bengals and good move for the entire NFL.

No talent should be kept on roster after run in, run in, run in, etc... with the law.

Once shame on you, 5 times shame on everyone else in the NFL for no doing something before this happened.

My only problem is that he will eventually sign with the Raiders.

Good deal.  It's very disappointing that Henry wasn't able to turn his life around despite multiple chances.  As a person who makes around $30,000/year, it's hard to understand how someone could turn their back on millions of dollars just so he could live the thug lifestyle... I'm very disappointed in Henry, but glad that the Bengals finally did what they needed to do.  I'm sick of the soap opera.  Now if Chad will shut his freakin' trap, maybe, just maybe, we could get back to concentrating on football.

it's about time.  I agree that the Bengals should start looking for a wide receiver, either by draft or possibly by trade.  i wouldn't count on Chad and TJ seems like he may be swayed by Chad's decision.  Henry was a punk.  I am not surprised.

Good.  Fire Chris, bench Chad, draft a RB and become a running team.  It's pathetic that TJ is skipping the voluntary workouts, and he's STILL the best behaved WR in the lot.

Any Marvin Harrison-type players in this draft pool? A shut-up and play receiver would be sweet! It was only a matter of time for Henry. He is an idiot and completely void of any common sense. I'm glad he's gone. Regardless, he will be suspended for at least a year.

I'm hoping the Bungholes use their draft picks on WRs too.  They had 3 great WRs last year, and still only went 7-9.

Now Marvin needs to rebuild both sides of the ball.  The defense has been in shambles for years, The O-line hasn't been able to open any holes for the running game since Eric Steinbach left, and now the offense is in total disarray.
