Uhhhh, Stanford has the biggest front court in the tournament and where are they? Memphis has played well against Thabeet (UConn), Hibbert (Georgetown), Griffin (Oklahoma), Hill (Arizona), etc... I think Memphis has proven they can play against a post presence.
I think that being down 7 with a minute to play at UAB was a little tougher than either Houston Game. Memphis won by the way, 79-78. And then had to dodge a minefield to clear the court.
So maybe you will learn how to spell Memphis now, seeing as how we just humiliated you and the 30,000 fans in Houston that were SO cocky they just ASSUMED they would be beating the #1 seed with a (now) 37-1 record. Which by the way is tied for the most wins in a season in the NCAA.
Ok, so bring on the "UCLA will beat Memphis" posts...or is the country finally starting to wake up and realize that you CAN play in Conference USA, and you CAN make free throws WHEN THEY COUNT, even when you have a low FT shooting percentage, and still make the Final Four...
...its unlikely
Im just looking forward to next Saturday...GO MEMPHIS
Memphis now has Four Wins and Two more for the NC!
With two back to back, 18 point wins over MSU and Texas ... we are on a Tiger roll that will go all the WAY to the NC! While Memphis Fans all along knew the calibre of this great team ... I'm sure others who've watched the last few games have also seen the Tigers are truly the great team that our fans have taked about.
We look forward to a great UCLA game next weekend!
The main reason is Memphis is a non-BCS school. This makes them dangerous. What if they won it all? What if they make the NCAA each year? What is they make the Elite eight each year? It shows the BCS would be Basic Cow S***. That other teams could do it and the big dollars for the BCS schools could dry up and be shared amoung all. So they are dangerous and must be placed in seeds that they can be beat at. We gotta protect the BCS school dollars. To bad the NCAA could not tell the refs to call it for their opponent. Of course with TV this would be obvious and everyone would know what happened. So they are scared and hate Memphis.
It's a case of the "haves" wanting to be sure that the so called "have nots" don't get a slice of "their" pie. They want to be secure with their thoughts of elitest grandeur, afraid to admit that if they don't adjust their "old school" basketball ways the kids from Memphis may change the way things are played.
Hind sight is 20 / 20 but the score you posted for the Memphis / Mich. State game is good for MSU but the UofM score seems to be the result of a little dyslexia; the Memphis score was closer to 96 rather than 69... sorry... we told ya'll sooooo
All of these "naysayers" and "haters" make me sick. My best recommendation is to just sit back & watch U of Memphis Men as they play tough, aggressive, athletic even combative Bball during the next 2 games to the NCAA Div1 Championship Trophy. For after all--the proof is in the playing on the basketball court before a world-wide audience. Go Tigers--show everybody what you men are More than capable of bringing to the court. This is from an avid ol' fart fan! Do your best and we will win.
That tell's me how many TIGER games you have seen. Not many ! The Tigers have played and won, probably more away games than any other team in the country over the past three seasons. Four starters have been together for three years. They don't get rattled on the road.
