"But then again your math is consistent b/c for some reason you are trying to tell me that 2004 Pats that went 14-2 were better than the 2007 Pats that went 16-0.  I think you might need to go back to school and take some math classes."

First of all, I never said the '04 Pats were better than the '07 Pats, though I do think their defense was a little better back then.

All I was saying is the '04 Eagles, a team that lost in the Super Bowl, were better than the '07 Giants, a team that won the Super Bowl. If the two teams could meet, the Eagles would win by double digits. Again, I acknowledge that game could only occur in fantasyland.

The best team doesn't always win the championship. You can't honestly believe the Giants, who were what, 3-5 at home, were the best team in football last season. They were the hottest team, not the best. I give you the 2006 St. Louis Cardinals as an example from another sport. They stunk all year, got hot at the right time to get their record up to mediocrity so they could qualify for the playoffs, stayed hot in the playoffs and won a title.

I think it's fairly obvious that the Pats were the best team in football last year. Unfortunately for them and their fans, they weren't the best team playing on Feb. 3 -- that was your Giants.

And I don't seem to recall the Giants "dominating" the Pats at any point in that game in the swamp in December.

yea, so the Giants were 3-5 at home...but weren't they 11-1 on the road, including 11 straight...it didn't matter if they were under .500 at home...most teams that are better at home are lousy on the road...and if I remember, the Giants were #2 on the road (behind the beloved Pats)...

it's funny how the Philly faithful are already anoiting the Eagles the team to beat...i'll give you credit, you made significant changes on D...but what guarantees do you have that all the additions you made are going to pan out and result in a division title?...also, you talk about the 04 Eagles better...that team was balance on offense and defense...until you get another weapon that McNabb can throw to (even he's calling for an addtional receiver or two), you still have much to prove...

what I find funny is everyone's talking about what their teams did in the past, and trying to compare them to each other...if I remember, we were discussing who wins the East, and who has the better futures...

the only ones who have a legit argument is the Giants and Cowboys...the Giants are young and talented, and the Cowboys are deep at every position...Eagles, until you have someone not named Brian Westbrook become your total offense, your dismissed...Redskins, until you can look me in the eye and tell me all the new coaches will translate into a playoff berth in their first year, your dismissed...

the Giants and Cowboys will finish 1-2 again this year...depends on who stays the healthiest...

You know what's funny about of this?  All these people who say the Skins overhauled their coaching staff and thinks Dallas has all this consistentcy.  Well the truth is the Skins lost 4 coaches total Dallas lost 5.  That is a fact.  He is another fact the skins are going to run the SAME defense, I know that scares all of you out there.  He is another fact the running game is not changing.  The Redskins have 21 starters back plus all key back-ups.  The Redskins also have a player named Chris Wilson who is a clone of Trent Cole just a little younger didn't start a game (didn't play unit week 7) and had 5 sacks, and two in the playoffs.

i think everyone here is getting way ahead of themselves i won't make an honest descision until atleast the draft. my honest opinion tho superbowl champs are the front runner . they lost three starters well lets recall wilkerson and wilson were the only  players lost thatstarted all season torber was kiwanukas backup and when he went down torber cam in gianta have 49 returning players give or take strahan. but even if he doesn't return tuck has mos more than proved himself with 11 sacks in limitted action. Cowboys need a reciever Terry Glenn isn't gonna make it and Patrick Crayton well he was your future ontil he got the start and wasn't as productive as they thought he'd be. Redskins are just in trouble and Eagles well westbrook can't carry your team forever. if eli keeps his playoff and week 17 performance going they'll be the team to beat.

12-4 Giants

10-6 cowboys

7-9 eagles

6-10 redskins

now keep in mind this is if the season started today.
