Correct me if I am wrong but Vince Young left Texas early to enter the NFL draft...nobody twisted his arm.  If he wanted his degree he should have stayed in school one more year and got it.  He is now the QB of a professional football team therefore that is his #1 priority...that is his JOB now.  He could have transferred his credits to a school closer to the Titans or he could have taken classes online or he could wait until his career is over...he has $20 million guaranteed and that should be able to hold him over until he got his degree and started his life after football.

Lienart stayed in school one more year to get his degree (and avoid being drafted by the Niners but that is another thread).  He has a party at his house while he is in town participating in workouts...doing his job...and he is the next Pacman and Vick?  If one of those girl's turns out to be underage, I agree, he should be dealt with as Henry was dealt with by the league...but the police have found no evidence to support that and are not going to file charges on a guy who had a party at his house when there wasn't any calls to the police to handle trouble (i.e. gun shots, drugs, violence, dog fighting, etc.).

I have seen some posters bash Prisco for being racist...you gotta be kidding me...who gave Sharpton a CBS profile??  It amazes me how more and more posters on this site get more and more ignorant every month.  Young made a decision to leave school and start his career before getting his degree...he should have thought about that before he left.  He now has a job to think about and shouldn't be focusing on school but on the career he chose over school.  I just hope he is getting a degree in something other than physical therapy or law...this country has more than enough of both.

He's not racist, he's just wrong. As a Cardinals fan, I'm embarrassed by Leinart's actions. What Vince Young is doing is correct. He made a promise, and he's following through with his promise. Good for Vince. He's making good decisions.

Leinart is making me wish we had drafted Jay Cutler.

i was unaware that being a professional quarterback means that you cant do anything else with your lives. maybe they should just sit around their homes 24/7 lifting weights, watching tape, and waiting for the next practice.

get the hell off their backs.

they both have a right to live their lives how they want. they dont owe you anything. they dont play football for you. if you dont like how they are living, you dont have to watch em.

if young wants to go to school, that is his right.
if leinart wants to have some fun (and heaven forbid people took pictures!!!), he can do that, too. and since when is it a bad thing to have a party? were there pictures of him doing cocaine? was he pulling an all-nighter getting trashed every night? was he skipping practices? no, he was having some fun, like human beings should do.

and what the hell good is it to be a professional athlete if you cant enjoy the lifestyle?

So let's look at this another way...you just got your manager fired, 3 months ago, because his style did not take advantage of your "unique skill set" and the VP brings in a new manager for you that has a totally new view on how to use your unique skill set.  This new manager needs to work with you daily to groom you with this new program and vision on how you will succeed within the company and through your career...and you tell him hold on to that thought while I go back to school to get a degree in something that is totally unrelated to your current field.  How soon before you get that pink slip?

Vince Young got Norm Chow fired, Fischer brings in a new coordinator (name escapes me at the moment) and Vince tells them that he isn't going to take the time to learn this new system because he needs to go get a degree he could have got 2 years ago?  Or even in the next couple of years???  Not only is that a slap in the face to management but that shows he does not take his NFL career, that he chose over getting his college degree originally, seriously.

Good for him for getting his degree...the timing is terrible though with the new coordinator being brought in to help him succeed in this league.  If he had stayed in school another year he would have that degree which is so important to him now.  He chose this career path though and he should honor the commitment and the contract that has been given to him.  If it was one of us ordinary Joe's...we'd be hitting the unemployment office.

Lets look at it this way, you are on vacation.  You have an opportunity to go to work unpaid during your vacation.  Do you go to work on your vacation?

This guy is going to school, not like he is a contestant on Dancing with the Stars

Give him some tapes and a playbook.  I wonder if he study for college classes while he studies football.  Like he did when he was in college.

I think Norm Chow got Norm Chow fired, actually. I could have been a better offensive coordinator. Here, let me give an example of the Titans' offensive strategy last year: First down: run... Second down: run.. uh oh.. lost some yards.. Third down and 14 yards to go: hmmm I think we'll try to pass.. but wait..defense is ready for it!  incomplete pass.. or if Vince tried to make something out of nothing, interception... And there you have it. That was the offensive playbook under Norm Chow

Don't you get it Vince is gonna need his education, cause when it doesn't work with the new guy[he'll need a careerr to get into_Same with Lienhart, gotta get that free publicity out-to keep his celebraty status stoked. Hope the mother of his child doesn't have to explain who daddy is helping get drunk. There is no comparing the two guys. One is a horrible passer/great runner. The other is an injury prone wanna-be actor.

Here is the ignorance of this statement. Last year Vince Young did all that. He was at the workouts, he called teammates to even join him in Houston to workout and got to know his receivers...the few they gave him. So suddenly because he wants to finish his education you ignore that and say he doesn't take his career seriously?

No it shows he takes being a person seriously. Getting an education is nothing to ever act like is a wrong decision. This is an act I can tell my son to look at to serve as an example to him. Never allow yourself to stall in your maturity and growth. Build upon yourself and the best way to do it is through an education. Despite the ignorance of the media and fans who think football outweighs all this young man went to finish what he started like a man should and get an education. And folks are trying to find fault with that? Sorry, that's ignorant.

Your example alone shows that with the manager thing. What job has an offseason? I wish my job did. And what job in any case prevents any employee from building on their education in higher learning? None that I know of as well. He will play football to about no older than 35-36 years old. Life expectancy of a male is around 77 years. That's about forty years of life after football. God forbid he wants to have something else to fall back on or even something to build upon before he even retires!
