I cant remember watching a National Championship game that was as good as that one was since the UConn-Duke game 4-5 years ago, and that game didn't have anything on this game, making this the best National Championship game I've ever seen. (Note to old people, I'm in college, so I haven't been around to see games like the 1991 Duke game, the michigan fab five (1992 I think) or some of the others you see in the highlight reels).
Congrats to Kansas for winning an amazing game, and also to both teams for making it to the national championship game and making it so enjoyable to watch.
P.S. I missed the whole first half and the first half of the second, so if anyone can provide me with commentary on highlights from that portion I would appreciate it.

This was quite a fun game. Maybe the best this decade, maybe not. North Carolina '05 was boring. Both Florida games were dull. UConn '04 was the same. Syracuse and Maryland were fun to watch though when they won. '01 was a drag for me because my team lost it to Duke. And Michigan State in '00 I don't really remember. So I would say that this has been the best title game this decade.

I'm partial to KU, but '88 with KU-OU was awesome. 50-50 at the half, and they just kept going. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!

Honestly, Mario Chalmers shot what i consider the best shot in NCAA Championship history. I picked Kansas to win it simply by watching their games and just FEELING their will to win. Best game of championship history. I can honestly say that.

You aren't old enough to even think that was the greatest game ever. Stick the books. Ask you dad about the past.

Its gotta rank up there, maybe top five of the last 30 years. I think Indiana/Syracuse in 87, UNC/Georgetown in 82, Michigan/Seton Hall in 89, and Arizona/Kentucky in 97 are right up there too.

Ah, youngsters...the 1982 Title game where freshman Michael Jordan made the game winning shot has to be up there, a one point Carolina win...but monumental upsets Villanova over Georgetown (1985 I think) where 'Nova made about 67% of their shots over the entire game rank up there, 2 point game...also the 1983 Jim Valvano-coached NC State team upsetting the dominant Houston team with Hakeem Alajuwon on a last second heave from half court that got tipped in at the buzzer..Indiana's Keith Smart beating Syracuse in 87 on a last second shot, Michigan beating Seton Hall in 89 in OT by one after two free throws with a second left..aside from that, you have go back to '62 to find a close final game. And as im sure old fart Billy Packer will remind you there was the '54 Carolina team that beat Kansas and Wilt the Stilt in three overtimes which has to rank as one of the best title games ever. Tonight's game? Great, for sure, deserves to be in the annals, but Memphis' running out of gas without Dorsey in overtime removes it from possible consideration as "greatest game ever" as it ended with more of a whimper than a bang. Congrats, Jayhawks!
p.s. someone please post an explanation for Rock Chalk Jayhawk, cant remember its origin

Your entitled to your opinion. It's deffinitely going to have its place in history though. In my lifetime that game was the best i have ever seen along with 2003's Syracuse and Kansas game with Hakim Warrick blocking the shot out of nowhere. It's probably not the best but of my lifetime... Deffinitely the best i have ever seen of ANY basketball game wehter it be NBA or whatever.

UConn-Duke was 9 years ago in 99 but I couldnt agree more. That was the best title game ive ever seen. Duke was a 10.5 pt favorite and uconn won. Loved every second of it. Beating Duke was the icing on the cake

Your probably right. But the game deffinitely has its place in history and is gonna be in highlight reels for years to come. It has deffinitely been the best basketball game i have ever seen in my entire life between college, NBA, and everything. I can't wait to see what next season's championship holds.

Whats with the reputation, level, and score rankings on this site? I see illiterate morons with high levels and reputations, and pathetic posts that receive high rankings. Do people sit around and rank themselves and their friends in order to improve their status?

That shot was ridiculous. The Jayhawks were left for dead. Now National Champions. I can't recall a better game.

For the record Nova v. Georgetown was in 1985, Georgetown was going for the repeat and dominating in every game of the tournament, and was expected by almost everyone to dominate the game. Nova shot a record setting, and still held today (cant see it getting beat) 79% from the field for the game and 9 of 10 in the second half. Keep in mind the shot clock and 3 point line didnt exist yet, getting enforcement the year after. Greatest Title game of all time. Nova was and still is the lowest seed to win the tournament at an 8.
