Anyone know how many games Westbrook will win?

Westbrook did really well yesterday. Too bad the Tribe offense did not produce.

Jake didn't give up a hit until the 5th inning. He gave up 2 runs in 7 and a third innings. And he only gave up 6 hits. On a day when the Tribe's offense shows up, that would have been a solid win. It counts as a Quality Start tho. 6 plus innings and less than 3 runs equals a Quality Start.

I think Westbrook will get at least 12 wins this year.

He better win at least 12, or they should think about trading him at the end of the year.

Jake Westbrook is a very good starter. He had a bad year last year b/c he was hurt. He had two good years before that and has looked great in Spring Training and through 2 starts this year. Wins are a stat pitchers have very little control over. You would be better off looking at ERA and WHIP to gauge a pitchers effectiveness.

Jake Westbrooks, outside of C.C. Sabathia, has been the Indians best starter for the last 4 years.  He was injured last year and that did affect him but he won at least 14 games from '04 - '06.  He always gives the team a chance to win and has been extremely consistent.  Before the emergence of Fausto Carmona, Westbrook was the #2 starter.  He may not be as powerful or dominant as C.C. and Carmona but his ERA is always under 4.50 and he pitches a lot of innings, plus he's not making that much.  Many teams would love to have Westbrook.

Right, and add to that: Paul Byrd will be leaving; and, history says CC will be gone.  If things play out that way, and then the Indians traded Westbrook, we'd have to find 3 new starters.  That's a tall order.

Sure I'd like to see Jake get at least 12 wins.  This year and next.

Jake Westbrook is doing good so far this year.  It sure would be hard to replace all the innings he eats up for the Indians.  Keeper!
