Don't you agree? I guess we shouldn't be surprised in our current age of extreme corporate malfeasance and disloyalty.

Hell yes everyone in Seattle had those insincere wide-eyed yahoo Okies pegged from day one! But there are many to fault with this entire Sonics debacle from Seattle's own (!) Starbucks prez Howard Schultz ( I hate his stinkin' coffee empire too) who mismanaged the team and then sold them to the OKC cow-tycoons, to the lack of leadership in Seattle from the mayor, city council and others. Especially galling are the last-minute machinations/approaches by local rich fatcats from Microsoft and others to "save the Sonics!" which is especially curious since where the hell were they when Schultz wanted to sell the team to local ownership????!!! I hope Commish Stern is feeling used and abused by his OKC pals and has that smirky smile wiped off his face. He's been a joke during this too. There must be a few Oklahoma City fans who have to feel that their ownership group is trying to get them a team by any means possible, no matter how sleazy and unethical it is . We stole another city's franchise, still under lease, fair and square! We sleep good at night and ten years from now who will care?

They bought the Sonics to move to Oklahoma City -- that's common knowledge. Puppet Stern's lies are as bad as his teeth.
Heck, I live in Seattle and the City and State of Washington are not going to build a new statium with a gun to their head -- or without. THEY DON'T CARE!
Let the Sonics move to Oklahoma and I invite everyone to stop buying Sonics tickets now and not give these Rat Bastard owners another dime. Then, vote the current Seattle and State politician out of office. Heck, they can't fill a pothole much less come up with a stadium plan.

yeah i really dont know how this could surprise anyone. doesnt it seem a bit suspicious when a group of oklahoma city business owners take over a team thousands of miles away? hmm.... this is just unfortunate for bennet because it got out, but no surprise here. its sad to see the sonics go (well, in the near future), but heres to hoping seattle gets another nba team real soon....

The sale of the Sonics seemed to come out of nowhere. Schultz had complained about losing money, but instead of trying to sell to local interests, he up and sold to the Bennett group. I might be wrong, but I never saw anything on local news in reference to Schultz wanting to sell the team. It seemed locally as though he was selling to spite the local government. Why is it that a $500 million dollar arena is what Clay and Dave require in Seattle, yet a local group says that a $300 mil. renovation to the Key would be enough for them to make money here (the Ford Center in OKC with improvements will have cost around $200 mil. including arena building costs).A local Indian tribe was willing to donate land south of where Clay wanted to build his palace, yet Clay balked. If he was trying to keep the team here in good faith, he wouldn't have stone walled like he did. His initial and only intent was to move the team to OKC. These e-mails prove it.. like we didn't know!

I feel for the Sonic fans, there are the ones being cheated. It's said how some owners don't about anything but their own pockets. But it would be nice if the owners would foot the bill for THEIR TEAMS ARENA'S and not the tax payers.
HEY you fans pay for my arena then I promise you as owner to jack up the prices for everything including parking.

its like he is trying to be a hero for the people of okc, and heck, maybe they will see him as one. but everywhere else in the country, he's known as a money-grubbin and lying fool

I myself am a firm believer in Karma. Though some say I am delusional, there is no doubt in my mind that the Sonics will be in Seattle next year. Bennet's actions will come back to bite him in the ass, and the Seattle public will call for his head. With every minute that passes by without the team officially being settled in OKC, the noose around Bennet's neck tightens. He knows that if things don't get done soon, momentum is going to shift in Seattle's favor.

It is an ominous precedent that is being set for the league. This has the potential to be Stern's legacy... not good.
