Forget C-Ron. We all know he has won. Hands down. But IF HE DIDN'T EXIST, who would have won the Players' Player Award?? (Technically, who should be second?)
If Cristiano wasn't in the picture then i believe that Torres would run away with the vote. He is second to Cristiano in Goals scored and has his team ready for a semi-finals matchup with Chelsea in the Champions league.
Super Henry buggers off to Spain, Arsenal without goals and leadership, what to do?
What short memories you all have, little baby Cesc, what is he 15? takes over as leader, top creator and goal scorer, he drove Arsenal to the top of the Prem and within sight of their first crown in four years, this is the same Arsenal that was supposed to finish fourth, if they were lucky...
Fabregas has been the driving force, all season, behind Arsenal's resurgence, without a strong supporting cast, surely the boy should get some recognition?
Arsenal need strength in depth so this boy can show his creativity, goals and leadership for the whole season and not just for half a year...
Abosoluty none of those players Cristiano ronaldo 1st, and ricardo quaresma 2nd
Birdy, get a clue.
PFA stands for Professional Footballers Association, which includes all of the players playing the the English professional football leagues. Last time I checked, Porto were not in the Premier League, or Championship, or any other league in England for that matter.
Jazz, the whole deal with the Players' Player Award is that the players choose their favourite candidates themselves. James was amongst the top six best players selected throughout his peers, nothing to do with my choice.
No offence, but I'd take their opinions over yours any day of the week, and especially on a Saturday.
if im not allowed to pick ronaldo, I'd definately pick torres. brought an extra spark to liverpool this year and if ronaldo wasn't in the leagu e would of dominated the headlines.
Cannot give it too Adebayor or Torres because one has only performed for the first half of the season and the other the second.
James has apparently been solid again this season. I have not seen enough of him to say but I do know his calamities seem to have been forgotten in the press.
Gerrard has been up and down all season. I cannot remember such a big name player being so invisible in games. Maybe he is still trying to hid from the gangsters that want his blood.
Cesc for me because of everyhting my fine friend posted before me.
LOL ya your half right,
Im half Portuguese and Half Italian
and ya i know thats only a premiership award
i just wanted to get Quaresma some love :P
and David James is the biggest joke LMFAO
1st of all Keepers should never win that award and if a keeper were to it would be Peter Cech.
so ya lol its my boy Cristiano Ronaldo with the PFA in a landslide who cares about second :P
I'm astounded by the lack of knowledge some people on this message board demonstrate... David James is in the list because he has had a fine season, as acknowledged by his fellow professionals. What is the argument?!
How anyone can say he doesn't deserve to be nominated is embarrassing. Either these people know NADA about football, or really haven't been watching James in action. He has been the best keeper in the league this season, inclusive of Cech who has been as (almost) much of a clown this season as James ever was.
Why shouldn't goalkeepers be allowed to win the award? If it wasn't for him, Portsmouth probably wouldn't even be a top half Premier League team... To put it in a language that you might understand, is that not the very definition of MVP???
the ballot thing explains his inclusion
I wasn't cracking on you personally, I really was puzzled by him being in the conversation
he is a real good solid keeper, no better, and no more important, than a number of other keepers in the league
which is why I was surprised to see him on the list
