Lol I like how I am not an idiot for thinking its not unreasonable to make players work hard.  Like I said, UK struggled more than they should have early in the year.  I wasn't debating that.  But blaming Gillispies conditioning on all the injuries is pretty funny.  Jasper and crawford's knee injuries at the beginning of the season occurred long before practice started in october, but I agree that we should blame them on BGC anyways.  I'm sure it was gillispie's fault that meeks fractured his pelvis taking a charge in an exhibition game.  Or that bradley got a concussion because of a hard foul, or had the flu and missed a few games.  Definately those were the fault of gillispie's conditioning program.  I could see how someone could make a case that Patterson's injury could have been aided by the increased workload.  Ultimately we'll never know.  But gillispie did ease off the kids once SEC play started in terms of intensity and workload.

The thing is if BGC were to leave who would UK get?  I suspect they'd go after billy donovan one more time, if he turns UK down then who.  Travis Ford, John Pelfry?  I love the former UK players, but they are entirely unproven.  BGC has proven he can be a winner, and he's proven he can recruit.  Even if you claim that UK got patterson because of tubby's work, he's still recruited good players like Joseph jones, DeAndre Jordan, DeAndre Liggins, Darius Miller and such.

Ford could be a great coach.  But I'd hate to see UK throw its coaching spot to someone who's so unproven.  I just dont think UK would be in a better spot we're he to leave.  Plus one year isn't enough to show anything.  He should be given more than 1 year to prove he can turn uk into a winner again.

Jason if you want to read my comments, you will notice that 99% are on the UK board. There is no question where my allegience lies.

I would not be too excited if we landed Billy Gillispie. I do not think he is THAT good of a coach. He had one great season at A&M, then bolted for Kentucky. I think he is a guy being promoted too much too quickly. He was merely an assistant under Bill Self when he was coaching at Tulsa only a few years ago. I just don't think he will be able to do much better than Sean did

Please, continue this kind of talk...it'll only help us.

I'll admit, when Gillispie was hired last summer I wasn't that excited. I was a Tubby fan.

But after seeing one season under him and seeing the recruiting classes he's bringing in the next few years I am COMPLETELY sold. The man can not only recruit, he can FLAT OUT coach, and I hope he stays as long as this continues.

Good luck with your hire. I know it can be a difficult process.

Jason, GoBigBlue (especially Jason)...you're not making this any better.

I'm sure 59 is a Kentucky fan. There's no sense in throwing out false accusations. Gillispie was known to have a drinking problem and I've reported this (to much opposition) on the Kentucky board many times.

But from all the same sources I heard from saying he WAS having issues, I am hearing now that things are as they should be.

If there were moral issues, Todd and Barnhart would have already addressed them. And by "addressed them" I mean relieving him of his position. Both are of the same no nonsense mold and both wouldn't hesitate to remove a recurring problem. And as far as I know, that's not happened yet.

OK this is a OKSTATE board we don't care about the cats problems, and yes billy had lots of problem with drinking,  when he was at utep (mainly) and a couple times at A&M but drinking in texas is not a big deal like other states. but OKSTATE DOESN'T care a Drinker is a drinker, billy will turn your program of past fame in to a real winner again. So Shutup. get off our board.

I think OSU should pay the money and go after Ric Pitino. He proven he can talk any group to the final four (UofL)...plus with the traditon that at OSU...he might get some pride back...considering how much he has lost at UofL....Give him the money and he will come calling!!!!!!

Since you want to throw out things about yourself.  I am also a season ticket holder and work part time at the CATS center at UK.  THere is not even a hint that people at UK are upset with him.  I agree that things were tough at first but as the year went on they smoothed out.  By the way Tubby did not sign PP.  It was after Billy arrived that he decided to come to UK.  So please don't give Tubby credit.  As for Legion, he was a big spoiled brat who could not cut his mom's apron strings and needed to go.

Just remember that five years ago they were calling for Rich Brooks head and they stood by him and the program is better for it.  Same thing will happen here if we can keep crazy people from running him off.

Please don't call into question my IQ because you obviuosly have issues.

What about Sean Miller from Xavier? If you can't get Calipari or Pitino I think he is a great coach ready to step up to bigger program.
