How in the world did the umpire miss that call.  Fukodome clearly had control of the ball before running into the center fielder. Bad call!  However you can't blame one bad call on losing the game.

Espescially considering that even if he called it an out the Phillies still would have won the game 4-3

AllSports56, you are absolutely right, that was a horrible call.  Only thing Fukodome IS the Centerfielder and Soriano is a poor Leftfielder.  He should have not been that close to Fukodome as he himself, didn't stand a chance to catch it.

Chicago & phils fans have a history of not exactly having the best of luck, when it comes to bad calls , collapses etc.  Bartman (you) ,1964 (us) ,although the Mets made some of the ghosts of '64 disappear this past season. The season is still young so keep the faith.

Can you say Mitch WIlliams?  Not rubbing it in at all, and I apologize for my positioning error.

Yea especially after Reyes was just called safe yesterday at the plate and his hand clearly didn't touch the plate until after he was tagged

Oh man don't mention the 1969 collapse, I was a seventeen year old kid and litterally cried when the Chicago Cubs went down.  The difference was the New York Mets had more youth, more heart, and most of all more pitching.
