In a society that tries to claim that human rights violations are being done in other countries........this question shouldn't even come up without first admitting we are absolute hypocrites. In my opinion, it should never be done....ever. Saying ''It's ok in this situation....not however in this other situation'' is the absolute worst in 'means justify the ends' thinking. If that's what we are then so be it...but if we try and stand for the absolute best in the world....or act like some kind of moral leader....then this question is nonsense....and trying to define 'torture'.....IF it's even being considered as on the freaking list then you have your answer...YES!! Frankly, Im ashamed of our nation right now......We executed German and Japanese officers at the end of World War 2 for similar things ...and here we are 60 years later and we are even asking the question? What happened to advancing as a society? Something we knew was wrong 60 years ago and yet here we are trying to justify it now?? Sorry, if Im ranting but this particular question....as a former marine who served for our country in this latest war...really pisses me off.
