Vote: Do you want Earl and DC Back?

The rumors are going hot!  DC and Earl Clark are scrambling back to class, looking to pass Finals and remain eligible for next year.   Earls projections in NBA Mock drafts fall every day another high caliber player declares they are leaving.

Now that we have had almost a month of DC is gone and now Earl is leaving... along with the Godfather saying E5 is gone...... 

It's time to vote, and give us your reason why.

For this Card fan, I say welcome Home DC and Earl Clark, welcome back home! It is time for EXTREME Makeover, especially for DC.     DC brings us some experience at the 5 spot, enough to hold our own until Samuals gets adjusted to playing college ball. Samuals should be ready by the time Big East play comes around.   OR maybe DC has a great summer, on the court and at summer school, and he plays like the heralded High School phenom that everyone thought he could be.

Earl...That's a no brainer!  I don't blame him or his family to go a little crazzzy when NBA people are saying he could go high in the draft. But now that reality has set in, and as long as he hsan't hired an agent, then come on back E5!

I opt for both of them coming back.

E5 is arguably our best player( or Smith or Williams). He would be great to have in the line-up.

DC is very talented and is an asset on the offensive end of the floor and if he improves his defense, he could be a Top 50 player in the country.

Also we will be  very thin at PF and somewhat thin at Center without those 2 guys.

Bring them both back!!!!!!!

hell yea, welcome back.  not just for us, for them as well.  another year and they both would be polished enough to go high in the draft next season.

I have seen nothing resembling an official announcement saying that anyone was coming back. I will believe that when I see it. Earl Clark can be a remarkable college player. His future in the pros all comes down to desire and some physical maturity. I have stated repeatedly that his relationship with DC has been a destructive one for him. The fact that Pitino had to "convince" DC Earl and Sosa to buy into a successful system at mid season indicated that none of the three has the intelligence to understand that they are parts (some more important than others) of something bigger that everyone will profit from. Williams was right when he talked about the net effect of making it to the final 4. Two more wins and a decent showing in the final would have made these guys rich. They all could have made bank by turning Pro. As a coach, I would make sure that DC and Earl parted company. The emotional energy that you ask everyone on the team to expend to have DC around isn't worth the return. The sum total of two years of coddling him amounted to nothing. If Padgett hadn't come back the team was on a slippery slope downward. DC's play in the last game was no better than it was when I saw him here in Vegas. Fouls, inability to hold onto passes directed at him, coasting down the floor, playing no real defense and not finishing. Why bring him back with good young players to infect them with his negativity, like he did Clark and probably Sosa. Think about it, I am Samuels or any of the others and I see DC getting all this attention for doing very little for the team.  Do I interpret it as a weakness in Pitino? Sometimes an example needs to be made to certain individuals to let them know where they stand with the team. Who goes and who gets to come back.? Do Earl and everyone else including yourself a favor Coach drop his buddy and move on.

...of course we want E-5 back!  He seems to be a fine young man and would also be a fine example to the new players on the team.  Right now I cannot say those same words about DC.  I do not know him personnally, all I know is what I see on TV and read on the web. If they both come back, I hope they understand that it is team first, and not about them trying to score as much as they can.

VilleforReal...... wow! So maybe the RUMORS are becoming fact.

I do have some inside scoop from a very very reliable source........a friend of McGees.

Early last week DC and Earl went to the Godfathers office, which is located in the athletic administration building.  End result of the meeting was to get back in class ASAP and take all of the Finals. After that the situation about possibly returning will be assessed.

Terry..... I feel your pain bro. BUT I believe the Godfather is done coddling DC. He stopped doing that in early February. Same with Sosa. Pitino is done being Fr Flannagan to these guys.  Note the amount of playing time from mid Feb to end of the season. The only time DC got substantial minutes were when Padgett got into foul trouble. Where was DC the entire 2nd half of the NC game? ON THE BENCH.

I get the feeling that with TWill and McGee, it's gonna be either get on board with all of us, or just don't even come around. Everyone is done coddling DC. Everyone is done babying Sosa.

08-09 is shaping up to be an interesting year. My thought is this could be one of the tightest, closest Cardinal teams we have seen in years.
