That's right i'm back X fans, this time with a very early look of next season so let's get down to the thick of things.

Top 8 Teams in the Atlantic 10 (In Order)

1. Xavier- They got some key players returning and got a good load of players coming in. Kenny Freese and Terrell Holloway are going to be impact freshmens and thats why once again they will be atop of the league.

2. Dayton- They lose Brian Roberts but got a good Freshmen coming in to take over, (Paul Williams) They have the best recuiting class followed by Benson, Johnson, Fabizirus. Dayton could have a possible four double figure scorers that would include Wright, Marcus Johnson, Little, Williams.

3. Duquesne- Last year i picked them for my most improved team and boy did I hit it right on the hammar. the Dukes are going to be a great team and could be a ver tough team to be comine confrence play. Lead by what i belive is the best big man in the A-10 Shawn James.

4. U-Mass- Harris proved late last year that he will go out and give his all and put some bigtime points up. Helping Umass almost win the NIT but those Buckeyes held on late in the game.

5. Rhode Island- Good news for them they get Barron back, Bad news they lose Will Danials. A player that should be in the NBA. It's going to be tought for the Rhodys next season to win on the road. But they could follow up to another NIT berth at best.

6. Charlotte- Mack is a proven scrorer, can hit the three ball and score down low as well, Goldwire graduating is going to hurt quite a bit but should hang on and get a 6 seed in the A-10 Tourney

7. St. Joes- They lose a couple of seniors but also keep some key returning players, I don't think they will have the skill of the elite teams in the A-10 to hang on.

8. Richmond- They have all five starters returning from last season, They are a very good home team and could get the job done if the right players are on at the right time. Watch out for RICHMOND.

A-10 Player Of The Year: Shawn James ( Will lead the Dukes into the March Madness, You herd it here first)

A-10 Co Player of the Year: Chris Wright ( A FREAKY Athlete and some amazing skills, Could average a Double-Double a game with 10ppg+ 10rpg+)

A-10 Freshmen of the Year: Kenny Freese ( A very good big man who can step out and hit the three ball, if the weight can go down the numbers will go up.)

A-10's Most improved Team: George Washing ( they still got some raw talent and they will easily improve from last year)

A-10 6th Man of the Year: Charles Little ( Coming off the bench in his Senior year he will step up huge. Almost a double figure scorer off the bench last season and don't forget he was the A-10 6th man of the year in the 06-07 season.

A-10 Most improved Player: Marcus Johnson ( He aveaged just over 10ppg and he really caught fire late and almost beat Xavier in Atlantic City scoring over 25 points. At only a Junior he coudl be huge next season for Dayton to make a run.

A-10 Head Coach of the Year: none other then good old Everhart from the Dukes. Turned them around completely and will LEAD the Dukes into the March Madness.

A-10 top PG- Terrell Holloway- Xavier

A-10 top SG- Ricy Harris- Umass

A-10 Top SF- Chris Wright- Dayton

A-10 Top PF- Shawn James- Duquesne

A-10 Top C- Kenny Freese- Xavier

That is a pretty good assessment of how the teams do. I definitly think that X and UD need their freshman to step up to stay on top. Hopefully Holloway or Lyons will fill the PG position very well. Good Luck next year.

That's all well and good, but a lot of things need to be sorted by November.  Half of these freshmen will probably fail to have prominent roles with their respective teams.   We shall wait and see.

This doesn't look too bad. Holloway as the top PG is a little overestimate. He is just a freshman. Shawn James will probably be the POY.

Here are my top 8:

Xavier

Duquesne

Dayton

Richmond

St. Louis

Rhode Island

UMass

St. Joes

St Louis can be dangerous. They have a good recruiting class. Duquesne returns everyone. The A-10 keeps its national status up.

Xavier wins the regular season for a third time in a row.

I would only disagree on two things.  I would think there would be some point guard in the league who is better than Holloway.  I would also disagree with UMASS being in the top 8.  They have lost a lot of seniors and a head coach.  They are going to be doing some rebuilding and I think St. Louis should be up there instead of Umass.  Besides that I think it is good overall.  I love the Duquesne pick and they might even win the A-10 if they pull out some pivotal games.

Derrick Brown will be first team all A-10 for his junior and senior year.

I believe Brown will play in the NBA.

You overrate freshmen a lot. Its easy to imagine how good a player is going to be before he ever steps foot on a college basketball court.

I have a hard time seeing an A-10 preview without mention of Derrick Brown. He needs to get more aggressive on offense, but I chalk some of that up to Xavier's balanced offense. You give him the baseline, he's finishing at the rim a step later. If I'm looking at anyone to average a double-double next year, its Brown.
