I saw Bob McKillop, the Davidson coach listed as a potential candidate. If he truly has interest, In hope UMass goes very hard for him.
Off what I saw in the NCAA tourney, this guy can coach with anyone in the country. Season ticket holder, and I liked Travis Ford, Bob McKillop would be an upgrade.

I agree w/ you BostonShamrock....I think McKillop is a great coach, but I would be worried that he would use the UMass job as a career stepping stone ala Travis Ford.  I would like to see Tony Barbee or Derrek Kellogg named as then next head coach....proven alums that would be comitted to their alma matter and provide an abvious link the program's the glory days of 1990s.

Derek Kellogg would be the ideal replacement for the departed Travis Ford.

Kellogg is a well known recruiter and can bring John Calipari's system to UMass "Princeton on Steroids."

UMass's backcourt next year is set.  PG Chris Lowe SG Ricky Harris SF Anthony Gurley very impressive backcourt.  David Gibbs is drawing comparisons to Darren Collison of UCLA should be a valuable asset to come into the mix of things.

John Calipari will have a say on which assistant makes the move for UMass.

From what I have been hearing, second hand on Boston area sports talk radio, is that Kellogg is the favorite, but that UMass wants to speak with McKillop.

Derek Kellogg has been named the coach for UMass and will have a press conference tomorrow night. Great pick up and can't wait to see what DK does for this university. Hopefully since he is a UMass alumni, he will be here for a longgg time.

I'm very happy w/ the Kellogg choice......let's see if he can make up for some lost time in recruiting.  I don't think this team will skip a beat going into next season and should still compete for the A10 title and a NCAA berth.  I'm looking forward to seeing coach Kellogg, Anthony Gurley, and David Gibbs joining Harris, Lowe and company.  It should be another fun season.

GoodThymes your were dead on w/ your prediction.

As always.....

Go UMASS!!!!
