If they play so many Big East schools anyway, why not just join the conference? I am tired of the Irish getting special rules, their tradition has been over for years. Need I remind, 41-9 loss to Oregon state in the Fiesta. They finally lost to Navy, the glamour is gone.

I'm a huge irish fan and have been since I was a little kid. I even have, like so many irish fans, the little guy tattooed on me! I have to agree though. The tradition, domination and what have you is all gone. We haven't won a bowl game since around '93 I believe? C'mon enough with the special rules, tv contracts, BCS stuff, and etc. The University of Maryland has done better producing NFL players, bowl wins and hell just wins than ND has in the last 15 years! Enough is enough, make ND earn their coverage and exceptions again!

I wish all the ND haters would realize that it is not about the "tradition, domination and what have you." When the guys making the the "{\special rules, tv contracts, BCS stuff, and etc." start losing MONEY, it will quit.

The Big East is the most over rated conference in football, and Notre Dame plays nobody from the Big East. Second, it wasn't Oregon State, it was Ohio State., Third, the tradition is not over, and the streak where Notre Dame continuously beat Navy and lot of other teams asses will be back soon.

I believe if they ever do, which I doubt. They'd join the Big Ten, they already play Purdue, Michigan, & Michigan State.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish play more Big Ten schools than the Big East, and they have absolutely no desire to join the Big East if they won't join the Big Ten...

It was Ohio State too. Tht's what's funny. Notre Dame has sucked so much and been so badly overmatched in all bowls in th elast 15 years that they have had their a$$ handed to them by two diffeent OSU school's in the Fiesta Bowl. Way to go ND! It's total BS that not at least one of these games is actually at UConn's stadium.

Why would the Irish want to join a conference??
BCS monies all to themselves..... TV contract all to themselves..... Schedule whoever you want..... where ever you want.
If the Irish ever did join a conference.... it would be the Big Ten.
They already play three schools a year, every year. Location.... location...location.
And until the TV contracts run dry... it is a moot point. They aren't going anywhere.... but to the bank.< | |
