I think this will work for us.  We only gave: "The compensation to the Jets is a conditional 2009 draft choice, believed to be a mid-round pick, dependant upon Robertson's playing time." That was from ESPN.

If we got him for a late round pick next year that is awsome.  We needed the help on the Dline.  I cannot wait to see what we do on Saturday.

Didn't I read somewhere that Robertson failed 2 physical, when we were trying to sign him earlier??

If he works out for the Broncos, this is a huge pick up.  This transaction allows Shanny to really start looking at all options for the 12th pick.  I don't think Clady will be available there, and if that's the case Mandenhall would be a very attractive pick up.  I have a feeling that picks 2 thru 10 are going to shake up prior to our pick, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the broncos react to them.

Final note: DON'T DRAFT D. JACKSON!!!!!

I really like this move, especially for a 2009 conditional pick, I say we draft Ryan Clady or that G/T from Virginia at 12.

I hear it's a 6th round pick that can go up to a 4th if Robertson meets certain goals. This is a great trade!! Now we can start he and Alvin McKinley and have our rookie coming off the bench in a solid rotation. I don't mind us drafting another a day 2, but this clears us of having to take a DT on day 1. I doubt we're taking an offensive lineman with the first pick now that Hamilton and Nalen are back (although the jury's still out on them). I'm sure we'll be making a June 1st signing for an offensive lineman, probably a veteran tackle like a Kyle Turley or Elton Brown. I think this trade is great because he's a space hawker up front who's going to clear the way for who I think is the first round pick Jerod Mayo and the rest of the LB's. Maybe we can get another decent D-tackle too, but I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too.

Its offcial the Broncos will take Clady the first pick on the 2008 draft..then Laws in the second round. Will Davis take Long if he falls to #4 that could mean Ellis might make it to 12. Saturday will be intersting.

Awesome..

This is a guy that has played through injury and is a good guy. Exactly what the Broncos need.

Good call dgregs on your earlier prognostication about a possible Dallas Denver draft trade. I have been told that there is a conditional trade in place for the Broncos to move back if the right player is available for Dallas. I do not know who or what pick though. Although it would be interesting to know over the years how many of these trades have been nixed at the last moment.

HOF,

Who do you think the player that Dallas might be after? Would they go to our 12 and get who? Would it be Devin Thomas if Buffalo dont take him...intrigueing....I would take that trade in a heart beat.

Devin Thomas if Buffalo don't take him

I was thinking the same thing. Or maybe Dallas will leverage the pick to move up higher.

I like the Robertson pickup for the simple fact that it didn't cost us much and he's been pretty reliable for the last couple of years.  The only problem is that you have to be skeptical of almost every Broncos move after whats happened in recent years i.e. Kennedy, Adams, and Rice.

I don't know if Clady will be there at 12, but if so, I don't think I'd be a bad move to get some help protecting Cutler next year.

Its a no brainer for us.  If he performs, he is worth the price.  If he doesnt we dont lose much.  Good job Shanny!  Lucky old Ted Sunquist wasnt here to mess it up :)
