Who The Hell Is Gosder Cherilus?

This is just embarassing. The last thing this team needs is MORE draft picks. As you know I am always beating the drum to beef up the O-line but I haven't read anything about thsi guy and judging by the analysts reaction, neither have they.

Okay, I don't blame everyone for freaking out on this pick.  However, I like it. 

First, he was projected as a late first round pick so it is not like he is not talented.  Second, he is supposed to be nasty in the trenches.  This draft is all about Coach Rod, and this guy is the type of guy he wants.  You will get 100% from this guy on every down.  He moved from Haiti to the US when he was 14, so he knows how blessed he is to play the game and it shows.  My logic is that Coach Rod would rather have a guy like this than a slightly more talented guy that is lazy and takes plays off.  Gee, can we think of a few DL and OL ex-Lions players that fit that description?  I remember when the Lions moved up to take OL Aaron Rodgers and the analysts raved about it.  Sure he was 300 lbs and could dunk a basketball, but he was a tub of laziness on the field that never really did anything.   I think Coach Rod is really trying to change the attitude on this team...   so I say Gosder will be loved by all when it is all said and done!

Hey, maybe this guy is the real deal. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on this guy and act like I have been watching tape on all of these players but I would really be surprised if any of the other 31 teams had this kid in their top 17 players to snag.

The fact that NE took Mayo only makes this more painful. Go knows if they think he is good, he will most likely be a perrenial pro bowler.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took a punter next.

Cherius is ranked as the top 1 or 2 RIGHT tackle in the draft and the Lions need a right tackle. He's 6' 7" 330 lbs, a junior out of BC and has better foot work and work ethics then Otah or Williams who the Bears drafted at 14. I can't believe since someone has not heard of him then the guy is a bum, what a joke. People actually listen to the ESPN analysts? Like Mel who predicted Ryan Leaf would be a hall of famer when SD drafted him. Also; the Lions tried to trade out of the 17th spot to pick up Cherius a few spots later and pick up an extra pick but could not get any decent offers. I listen to an NFL radio station on sirrius and just turn ESPN on without the volume, they do a much better job of reporting.

I agree we should have picked Mendanhall.Although the trenches need filled badly I think we let 1 get away.   Thats ok we Lion fans should have figured something like this would occur.Nothing new here.
