Good morning fellow Red Sox fans!

I'd like to start a new thread simular to the one I started over on the Bruins message board this year. (The one stop, all Bruins thread). It was a huge success so I thought I'd give it a shot here too. No disrespect to the "Royal Rooters" thread. It's a great thread and is very successful obviously by the number of posts it has but I get tired of reading pages of stuff that has nothing to do with the Red Sox or baseball. I just want to give an alternative thread to post to regularly.

Anything about the Red Sox good or bad. From the players to Wally the Green Monster. Anything goes.

I'd like to start off by saying "What's up with losing two straight to the Rays?" Talk about wasting to great pitching performances from Clay Buchholz and Josh Beckett. James Shields did pitch a good game for the Rays though. I'll give him some credit. But the bats need to wake back up again. Mike Lowell is just about ready to return so that should help. And I don't think David Ortiz will be diving into first base again anytime soon.

I don't think I can ever remember the Rays and Orioles both being in first place at the end of April. What's this world coming to?

Let them enjoy it for now. God knows their fans need something to get excited about for a change. But it won't last long. If not for the illness going through the clubhouse we probably would have won a couple more games. We won't be down for long.

Sox have the day off today. Daisuke Matsuzaka and Jon Lester have had their starts swaped to give Daisuke another day of rest because of the flu. Lester will face Roy Holliday tomorrow instead when we kick off the series against the Blue Jays.

But our pitching has been great the last few games. It's the bats! And Big Papi not playing isn't helping. Just when he seemed to be getting out of his slump too. Lowell is going to be back soon though. This won't last long.

I think the pitching will be fine. I still wonder about Manny Delcarmen a little though. He's been shaky out of the pen.

Cobra if it's cool, I'd like to show my support for yet another thread discussing the Boston sports scene. Good to see like our fellow Bruins fans you've shaken' off the heart break and gotten ready for baseball season.

Thanks BSL. I got yours too.

Looks like the American League East is going to be a little tougher this year than normal. Although I doubt very much that the Orioles will keep the pace up. The Rays have a pretty good team though and could surprise people this year. The Blue Jays are decsent too. The Yankees suck like they always do. LOL  Their pitching is going to hurt them this year. All they have is Wang and I don't really think he's as good as he's been pitching so far.

The Red Sox should finish first again this year.

Well let me say it first. We stole one tonight. The Doc was in, and ready to operate in Fenway. In his last 4 start Halladay has gone the distance and is 1-3. He has given up 11 runs in those four and recieved a whopping 8 runs in support. He has to be shaking his head after that 1-0 Boston win tonight. That being said. Lester looked good. Still too many walks for my liking, but he seemed to pitch his way around them without a hiccup.

That win tonight was a steal for the Sox and a good way to end that losing streak.

Its nice to see all the B's fans up and about after that tough end to the season.

I don't see everyones problem with the pitching no one in baseball has a quality 4th and 5th starter and even though DiceK can't get through 6 innings yet the sox have an ace in Beckett and 4 guys who could win 12 to 15 games.  With this offence they could make that even more as long as they learn to get deeper into games.  If you look at their relievers you have a decent mix and it will look a lot better as long as the lineup can continue to hit 300 after the 6th inning.  This is going to be another Shot at a World Series, and another title shot 4 Boston!

If Jon Lester cuts down on his walks I think he'll be fine. Nice win last night anyway. I wish the bats would wake up again though. Low scoring games lately.

I don't have any problems with the pitchers we have. Look around the league. Who's got a better 5 guys than we do? If Colon can come back and pitch well it would be great. Still early. Dice-K will get better as the season goes on.

Pretty good game pitched my Dice-K last night. Where the hell have the bats been though? Games have been to close.

Have I mentioned that I think Manny Delcarmen sucks?

Good to see Red Sox Nation again!  Manny Delcarmen is a royal pain in the arse!  He has an incredible arm.  His arm strength and curveball is phenominal.  He has closer type stuff, but I think he may be brain dead!  I honestly think he is one of those guys that doesn't work hard or study opposing players.  He just goes out there and throws the ball around.  He doesn't look like he cares.  I hate to see so much potential being wasted, but it seems to be the case here.  He needs an attitude adjustment.  He knows he has good stuff and I don't think he cares where he plays.

What's the deal with Paplebon blowing 2 saves in a row? Hope this doesn't happen too much.

Good to see Big Papi hitting his stride finally.

Nice win over the Twins tonight.

Not a good game from Clay Buchholz last night. The guy couldn't throw strikes.

Can't wait to see Manny hit #500. Should come this week sometime.

I say keep playing Alex Cora. Screw Julio Lugo. The guy keeps costing us games with his errors.

I know we got Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell for him but how great would it be to have Hanley Ramirez playing shortstop for us now? He's only one of the top 5 players in the league now. I hope Beckett is still dominating in 5 years when Ramirez is winning MVP awards.

Do we have any good shortstop prospects down in Pawtucket?
