ok. ill be the one who starts this...  lets all be honest here and show hands on who was wishing that Felix Pie was hurt enough to be put on the DL for awhile and force jim hendry to make a move for another centerfielder or bring up Tyler Colvin..

i will admit.. i was guilty of that.. sorry pie fans but i just dont think this kid has the IT factor to be a solid major league ball player..  the only thing he does good is play defense.. maybe in a few years but this chicago Cubs team is not rebuilding and waiting, this team is ready to win now and to have to pamper pie along while their trying to win a pennant is not going to work..

I like how all you boneheads started booing ricky for running into him. Is there something you boneheads dont understand about the game? It was not a dirty play.

I agree with you,  Bearz. I just wish instead of injury, Hendry would package Pie in deal with, lets say Murton and get a real leadoff batter. I think the Dodgers would love to get rid of Pierre. He is stuck in a deep outfield rotation so it might be a smart move for them to give him up and his salary for maybe just a prospect or two. Maybe even get Crisp or get Damon and $$$.

2 weeks ago i'd be praying for injury, but i like his approach at the plate lately and he's working very hard with extra sessions with the minor league coach that he admired that we brought up to the club to help him... it would have been a shame to see him get injured and yield his progress.

OHHH ronny you always have to put a damper on things...lol...

maybe just a sprained toe that wouldve lingered for weeks or months but he still could work on his hitting but not able to run..lol

I agree Ronny.  Felix Pie has looked a lot better since doing some extra work with the hitting coach from the minors.  Lou has spent a lot of time and effort on the kid; he WON"T be traded.

Pie is walking more and getting more hits.  Maybe he is starting to turn things around.

Holy Cow!  Bring-up Colvin!  C'mon, what are we talking about here?

Colvin is hitting .240 in AA with 7 walks and 25 strikeouts in 25 games (96 ABs).  What right minded person thinks Colvin is ready for Chicago?  Plus, (as if there needs to be another reason), Colvin isn't even on the 40-man.  To add Colvin to the 40-man, somebody else would need to be waived.

Then somebody called for Juan Pierre.  Juan Pierre!  Is that a joke?  Hasn't Chicago tried that experiment before?  The Cubs gave up too much in pitching prospects for Juan Pierre the first time around, now he's overpaid too.

Wow

i agree.  we dont need to bringing up Tyler Colvin, we definately do not need a return of Juan PierreFelix Pie serves as a solid defensive replacement when we need one.  pierre is a joke and covin is just not ready.   Reed Johnson is doing just fine as a lead off hitter and last time i checked we won the division last year with Alfonso Soriano leading off.  however, the resurgence of this pie for Khalil Greene stuff is interesting to say the least.  i thought that was over and done many moons ago.  oh well, it is always something.
