Yes, Rajai Davis isn't developed yet - doesn't hit well and field well consistently, but this dude has insane potential.

And the Giants let him go. And kept that washed up piece of junk Roberts. Look what some of these big money contracts from the past are doing.

Rajai will be a big factor come the stretch run if the A's keep up their pace - once he gets on base - man o man!

I was a little shocked when I heard this. Please get rid of these old guys now. Whats the point in ditching Barry if your going to keep the rest of the grey hairs.

I don't mind Rajai leaving even though we didn't get anything for him as he served his purpose and got Matt Morris out of town.  He was not playing now we have another younger speedster on the team in Emmanuel Burris who has been great and if losing Davis was the only way to bring him up so be it he will be better then Davis and maybe we can get Nate Schierholtz up here soon as well.

CentralCal - I agree with you on letting the other good new guys play (and somehow getting rid of Morris), but don't you wish that the Giants didn't have to deal with that washed up Roberts and his hefty enough a contract that other teams don't want?

Right now Rajai would be great as a pinch hitter - walk or bunt himself on then he can steal a base or two and score on a hit! Plus, Rajai will be a pretty good outfielder - he's make some great plays with his speed.

I think Raja served us well and we need to post on the A'S board and let him know, this is better for him we didn't have a place for him, let's hope he doesn't come alive when we
or he play against one another, as far as against other teams, more power to him.

That's the thing Rajai was having trouble with though. He couldn't steal first base. I loved watching him when he got on base but it didn't happen nearly enough. And he wasn't really getting enough at bats anyway. He deserves to play somewhere, as was said, and you know the A's will definitely give him a chance to play often.

As far as Roberts goes, I think we'd all like to be able to dump that contract. But he's injured, and I don't think they could just release him without having to pay a bit of his salary anyway. I don't think we're gonna be able to manage what we did last year in completely dumping Matt Morris and his salary on the Pirates. But Fred Lewis is playing so well that I think everyone's completely forgotten about Roberts anyway.

I agree. Davis is raw, but Roberts is past his prime and he was no good in his prime.  What hurts is that the he is signed through 2009.  He stinks, and he gets paid too much.
