Either way I don't really care about LSU's OOC. Blah.
Would you care about it if Auburn beat LSU and won the West, but lost to WVU OOC and then got another loss in the SEC championship game, meaning the SEC champs(Georgia?) and LSU got BCS bids and Auburn didn't? It could easily happen.
Auburn goes 10-2 regular season, beats LSU, but loses to Georgia and WVU.
LSU, goes 10-2 regular season, loses to Auburn and Georgia.
Auburn gets its 3rd loss in the title game against Georgia, so the BCS would take a 2 loss LSU team over a 3 loss Auburn team.
I just think it's ridiculous that the other 11 SEC teams have stepped up and LSU hasn't.

POOR buckeyefan, once again he can't contact the dots. The reason no one is saying anything is because
A= LSU plays a TOUGH in conference schedule
Its hard to tell that the SEC is tough if they don't play good OOC opponents. You need to play good OOC opponents to see how good you do against them before you can make any claim of being tough. Not saying the SEC isn't tough, only stating the obvious that always overlook cassells.
Just look at what USC has done to ever SEC team they have faced since 2003. Or just look at what the #7 Pac10 team did to the number 2-3 SEC team last year.

You fools have no idea what you're talking about. No one wanted App St after the walked into Michigan and embarressed them. who stepped up? a team w/ balls.
Teams with balls - 2008:
- LSU
- Jacksonville State
- James Madison
- Presbyterian (presumably not the whole faith, but a football team going by that name)

PC,
I like the way you almost try to make it sound like the LSU fans approve of this. I've given you links to LSU websites, why don't you go find out how the majority of fans really feel. As fans, there's nothing we can do. It is a shameful OOC this year but it's a done deal. Can't change it, can't wish it away, can't make it stronger. We have no say when the A.D. makes their decisions in this matter. As far as the team, after last year, I'm sure their not complaining. I do find it funny though for the 2nd time in a week an OSU fan decided to pull this Ace out of his pocket.

but people wanted to turn it into a SEC/Big 10 Ohio State Hate thread as usual

Since whodem and others chose not to reply to this when I posted it earlier, I'll post it again to see if they have any comments
I am always here for you PC, just had to wait till the boss left for the day here at the laundry mat.
What would you like me to do? Call Skip or the new guy and tell him I want harder games? Hey, I ADMIT we should schedule 1 decent OOC each year. IMO, that strategy was the reason we won the NCG. Without the VT game, other teams would have had a legitimate gripe.
Why didnt they do it? Not my job to justify but I know we better not have more than 1 ,...maybe 2 losses to get a decent bowl berth. Did we cause ourselves another shot and repaeting...let's wait and see how it plays out. I still think our schedule is "comparable" to USC or OSU, Not better for sure but similar.

If you LSU/SEC Haters keep this up...we will take our FOUR BCS Crystal footballs and go home!
Bang on me, my team ,my players, my conference all you want ...but until you walk the walk your talk is squawk. The difference is that no matter WHAT happens the next two years of this decade, we GOT OURS already!!!!!
Lastly - I love defending the KING of COLLEGE FOOTBALL, it's so easy to do when you hold the ultimate trump card and secondly .......bring it on, it makes me get "a lumpy!!!"

Knut and whodem,
I was only talking to the ones who were defending the schedule. If I were an LSU fan, I would be upset.. When VT scheduled a bunch of cupcakes in the late 80s and early 90s, I didn't like it at all. I knew why they were doing it.....because, like Kansas last year, they were trying to build a program, but I still would always rather see a lot of competitive game instead of a bunch of garbage opponents. However, once the program is built, as in SEC and national titles, I think it's time to end the 7 or 8 home games a year nonsense.
By the way, don't you guys have any pull down there? Knut, you need to storm in there and tell the AD how you feel. You too whodem. Tell him you are tired of beating teams 48-7. Oooppps, that was VT, wasn't it?
Out of curiosity, do you guys know who you have scheduled BCS OOC down the road? Is it gonna get better? VT has Nebraska, Wisky, K-state, Ohio State, Pitt, and Syracuse through 2016.

The only BCS team on our schedule for 2011 - 2012 is Colorado and that is a long way off. As fans we can only hope with our new AD that things will be different but the next few years there will be alot of LSU fans that have their heads hung low when it comes to OOC conversations. Like Whodem said, just 1 a year would make such a huge difference.

Here is how pull I have. I used to live around the corner from the old AD Skip Bertman. His house caught on fire one night and I asked if I could help..anything..give me a garden hose ....ANYTHING.
He said son I appreciate the help but we want someone that was smart enough to put his clothes on before he ran down here.

A home and home with Texas A&M would be nice but.......

Knock Knock..hello..is anybody home? Auburn, Fla and Tenn (w VT and of course OSU) WERE the BIG games last year..er....and we won them all.
FL was a heavily overrated team all yar becase of their defense. The only thing that kept this team from being below .500 is the fact that they had one of the best offenses in the country. Auburn had no offense all year. Look at the lack luster games played against everyone but LSU and non-BCS teams. Only scoring 20 on FL is a joke.
VT and OSU were dominant games, no complaints from me on those.
UK and Arky were NOT the big games. Kentucky was the sandwich game between Florida and Auburn and we were in the SEC CCG regardless of the Arky outcome.
Its a long stretch, but I'll give you KY. Ark on the other hand was indeed a big game. Last game of the season and they were fighting tooth and nails with 3 other teams for the top 2 spots. I know they had the SEC west handled regardless of that game, but they werent a lock for the NCG. They werent even a lock after the SECCG. IMO VT should have gone because they were ranked higher before the CCG's and beat a better opponent by a larger margin.
LSU and OSU did what we needed to do. USC, WVU, MIzzou, Georgia and all the others did not. PLain and simple the 2 right teams played for the NC.
First aprt I agree with, the second I do not and I gave my reasoning for it already.

Wasn't Auburn kept out of the BCS game in 03 because of a lame ass OOC schedule, much like LSU's in 08?

Auburn was mostly kept out because OU and USC were rated ahead of them all season and both of those teams went undefeated as well, but the weak OOC schedule didint help their cause
