Career numbers
Cabrera 317 games 158 runs scored 312 hits 21 hrs 140 rbis 28 sbs.277 ba
Fielding 3 seasons 29 assists 7 errors
Ellsbury 61 games 66 hits 6 hrs 30 rbis 20 sbs .327 ba
Fielding 1 Assist 0 errors
Melky has been in the majors for two full seasons already. This is Jacoby's first full year so he hasn't seen as much major league pitching. Take a look at Ellsbury's numbers two years from now and then come back and tell me he's not as good as Cabrera.
Great point btown - leadoff man is cruical. With that threat of stealing second or anyother base is important. When was the last time Boston had that option?
Otis Nixon? Dave Roberts? Honestly, the Sox have never really had a "prototypical" leadoff hitter in recent memory. Jacoby should change all that.

I don't want to look it up, but I think they're 17-3 when he does score a run...

Damon had his career year with the Yankees.
I wish he had a arm.

Damon was a natural leadoff hitter and he was good when he was in Boston .
I hate em as much as anyone, but the guy is having a very, very solid year right now

Ellsbury's so tough he doesn't bother with after-shave. When it starts to burn when he sweats, he just growls at it. Game over.

I guess it is worthy of a debate. Lester and Buchholtz vs. Hughes and Kennedy certainly isn't.

i is concerend about basebal with Barry Bonds and roger clemmins taking steriods cause that is bad image for basebal and make people think that all ball players is using steriods but they is not just a few of them but they is making basebal look bad

You cant acquire a can of peas for your other "excellent" CF
Who says we want to get rid of him? Steve Phillips? LOL...He's never been wrong before right?
The Sox are very content with having Manny, J.D, Coco AND Ellsbury as their outfielders.
Now if the Sox were in dire need of starting pitchers because their 'Young Guns' failed miserably, like the Yankees did, then maybe they would make a deal, after all you can't tell me that Coco couldn't start for at least 15 teams in league, especially if he's hitting .280 or better, which he is the last time I checked.

Can you say double talk? LOL! Then why wasn't he traded? But at the same time, you clowns think that Jacoby is a better CF then Cabrera? LOL....Ellsbury doesn't START! HAHA

Entering the season, the Sox could not unload Crisp for anything, and they were trying...As we stand today, now that JD Drew is back to being the human pane of glass, you lost Brandon Moss for a while, Im sure they wouldnt want to trade Crisp......

Think you dont need bullpen help? Outside of Paps, that bullpen craps the bed........

Oki is good. Aardsma is pitching well over his head right now and should begin to suck soon. I've giving up on Delcarmen, but if he can pitch like last season i'll be happy.
Agreed and objective!~

I like Melky more. His power, which he is just starting to show and his stronger arm being the reasons. His arm is the main reason the Yanks were able to get weak | |
