What are these rankings based upon?
7 out of the top 9 teams are fromt he J.V. league (a.k.a. the National League)! Does this guy realize that the NL is only playing the N.L. right now!
If you look at the rankings at the end of last year it was the opposite (7 out of 9 teams from the A.L.)! What changed in the off season --> the AL got stronger adn the NL got weaker!

Obviously there were many trades and FA pick ups...
With Santana and Haren in the NL now, i don't see that league got weaker.
Let the season play out... these rankings are all based on one guys opinion.
He does have the right teams in the top ten, I would rearrange them, but still the right teams are in there.

"the AL got stronger adn the NL got weaker!"
I see why you are a rookie. Do your homework son, pitching wins ballgames, unlike the Miguel Cabrera trade which has really worked out well for the Tigers lmao

The AL got stronger? Who, the Yankees? Detroit? You need to watch the games this year dude, not your saved games from last year on Tivo.

I find it funny that he has the Jays ranked over the Rays and the Rays have owned them this year. Again beating them last night.

The point is not original but fair enough I guess. As a Boston fan, I am inclined to agree that the American League is just better. But the truth is that we just dont know yet. These rankings will change once we get into interleague play. I think that in the meantime, it is legitimate to give the NL the benefit of the doubt. If we get into the middle of the season and the AL has a substantially better interleague record, I am sure the power rankings will reflect that. In the meantime, just be patient.

As I also believe the AL has a very slight edge over the NL, the AL teams have been beating up on eachother which has resulted in mediocre records (especially the AL East). Now since it is so early in the season and the NL teams in the top ten are doing so well, I can't argue that the rankings are bad. If it were me ranking them, I'd probably have a little bit different order but all and all, it's a fair ranking...
One problem I have is the Toronto Blue Jays being ranked higher than the Tampa Bay Rays. I can't find one reason to justify this, even the Marlins or Orioles should be higher than the Blue Jays.

You're just an idiot. Every week somebody gets upset because they have no idea what these rankings mean. It is how the teams played the last 7 days. It has nothing to do with last year's records, preseason predictions, the quality of lineups or starting rotations or what league the teams are in. For example, I am a Cardinals fan. But to think that they Cardinals are currently/will be the 4th best team this season is ridiculous. But we've lost two games out of the last 10. Two. Hence the high ranking.
Let me guess...another bandwagon Yankees/Tigers fan? And honestly, the AL is pretty disappointing so far this season and the NL is full of pleasant surprises. Leave your biased opinion out of it. Huge payrolls (ie, the AL) doesn't mean better teams. This is baseball, not moneyball.
