Ernie Kent had 4 years with this talented but miscoached seniors and a first round loss that was blown by bad coaching is what we have to remember this group of ducks. Year after year we bring the talent into the program and we see minimal results. If Oregon could land Mark Few I would be in favor of them firing Ernie Kent. Oregon's new basketball arena should keep bringing the highly rated recruits to Eugene, we just need a coach that can teach them the right way to play basketball.
I agree with you to some extent. The loss against MSU was very much his fault, true. We just kept jacking up threes and hoping they'd fall. The lack of leadership is the main problem though. Last year Brooks was our main man. Now we have nobody to rely on in the clutch.
Ernie should be given another year or two, but I agree that Mark Few would be a very intriguing option if EK is let go.
If Oregon could land Mark Few I would be in favor of them firing Ernie KentI've been saying this for years. Over at the Duck blog on Oregonlive.com they hate me. Ernie is a good recruiter (well..except for Love and Singler) but can't develop talent. Nor is he a big game coach.
