Kobe is the best player in the NBA.

I've had to work and havent been able to catch these first two games.  The Celtics overall are a pretty decent defensive team.  and they are somewhat underrated defensively even though they are virtually tied for lowest points allowed in between detroit and SA,
Kobe went 6/25 against the Celtics this year.  In the regular season Lebron once went 7/25.

But Kobe lovers have short memories.  remember in 2004? even when he wasn't the #1 on the team..he went 10/27, 4/13, 8/25, and 7/21 in the 4 laker losses?
What do you have to say about that?

I remember he had an awful series and looked up the stats on the nba website.

15/46 in two back to back MUST wins..and yes he is the best player right now.

Lebron has a good chance at becoming better than him.

I'm talking about the 2004 NBA finals if that was clear enough, kobe sucked in that series.

15/46 is about twice as good as 8/42 for whatever its worth.

When you say that the Celtics are 'somewhat underrated defensively', what are you talking about, exactly? Who is 'underrating' them? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you hear the announcers and ESPN analysts always talking about how the Celtics have the best defense in the league, in terms of scoring margin, points allowed, FG percentage of opponents, etc. Nobody is 'underrating' the Celtics' defense.

LeBron has a chance at becoming better than Kobe, but that remains to be seen. Right now, he is not. LeBron has a very flawed long-range game--the mechanics of his jump shot need to improve. His FT percentage is sub-par. There are also intangibles that only come with experience, something LeBron doesn't have yet at this point in his career.

I do believe that if there is indeed a Lakers-Celtics matchup for the Finals, this time around would be very different from during the regular season. Gasol has now worked himself perfectly into the lineup, and if I'm not mistaken, the Lakers did not have Gasol when they played the Celtics. The Celtics and the Lakers are very evenly matched. Taking into account the fact that Kobe can take over a game any given night, and that he trusts his teammates more now that they are contributing, I have to say that I think the Lakers would beat out the Celtics.

yeah its is better but kobe had shaq to help him out who had a pretty good series.

Are the Celtics going to try to double up Ben Wallace or Delonte West or wally szerbiak?

By underrated, I just mean that i think overall people have underestimated the improvement that some players who were defensive liabilities in the past have made.
Of course the Celtics have numbers.  no team since the Michael Jordan's Bulls have had a double digit point differential over a season.

I think people still view SA and the Pistons as the defensive powerhouses because they've done it for so long and the celtics have only been doing it this year.  and certain players haven't played D their entire careers and are doing a better job this year like Paul Pierce.  It's hard to view him as a D player, but he's not too bad now overall this season.

Gasol is the perfect compliment to Kobe, it is hard to guard both of them.  The rest of the Lakers are stronger too.  The Lakers with Gasol and without are two different teams.

That said, James has nothing on his team that compares with the talent Kobe has surrounding him.  Ben Wallace has not delievered!  The Cavs talent is closer to what the Lakers had right after Shaq left, when they did not make the playoffs.

Just because Wallace hasn't delivered, doesn't mean he doesn't have the talent to do so. James has the people around him that he wanted. He cried until he got them, now your wanting to cry foul after the fact. Sorry, doesn't work like that. The Cavs have the talent in place to play much better than they are, they just aren't playing to their potential. Why? Lack of leadership maybe? Who knows, but the talent is there.

I remember once like 27 years ago, Kobe didn't score ANY points against the Celtics. Let's stick to the here and now. Kobe isn't playing the Celtics, James is. Kobe fans don't need to lay-off. Would James fans if it were the other way around? Not! Point is, James fans have been pissing and moaning about how he should have been MVP, and he isn't playing like one. Catching grief about that is warranted. We're not talking about a bad stretch of 5 minutes here, we're talking about two completely terrible games. Second round playoff games where a superstar is expected to excel, not tank it. At least show glimpses of greatness, and he hasn't even done that. Celtics have a great defense, but come on, then he needs to create something.

Dude.. Are the Celtics going to try to double up Ben Wallace or Delonte West or Wally Szczerbiak?  You must be on crack.  Why would they ever divert defensive attention from LeBron. They're obviously doing a fantastic job on him, unless LeBron has lost his A-game.  If I am not catching your logic (of which you provided none), please explain.
