PATS FANS; HOW TO HANDLE HATERS

In our worls PERCEPTION not only becomes reality, but IS the truth, regardless of its purity, or intentions. The Patriots will wear this "scarlett letter" of cheating, and being repugnant it assumed so, FOREVER...sorry Pat fans, its just a fact.

It's really not a fact.  A fact is something you can prove.  I believe what you are trying to say that "the Patriots will always be viewed as a cheating team" is a fact.  It's just not, it's an opinion.  And it's not even the most popular opinion.  Here's why:

Pats fans don't hold your opinion.  Many fans that I've spoken with of other teams who don't just come to these message boards to rile up Pats fans don't hold your opinion either.  Neither do the other coaches in the NFL who have repeatedly come out and said all the things that a previous poster put out there on his long list.  Neither do the players in the NFL, who have all come out and said it had no effect on winning or losing anything.  Neither do the sportswriters, who continue to write about the most efficiently run organazation in sports.

Look around...the only people who continue to insist the Patriots are tainted in any way are guys like you...fans of other teams that are desperate to explain their sucess since 2001.  Now, you are certainly not a small minority, but you ARE a minority...just a very vocal minority who like to portray their stubborn opinions as fact.

My team? My team just smoked squeaked by your team in biggest game of all, rendering those 16 regular season wins meaningless. Any other questions?

Hey patsies, welcome to what we Cowboys fans hear all the time.  For those with limited memories let me provide some ammo, 'Hollywood' Henderson, Irving,,,,,,need I continue?  When you are the flavor/team of the day, you are monitored non-stop and anything bad will stay with you forever. 

Now, are the patsies the only team to cheat, nope.  However, they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and will forever be associated with it.  That's life, deal with it.  Enjoy your time in the sun, it doesn't last forever, ask me, or any of my fellow Cowboys fans, or Steelers or 49r's fans about the 'other' side of the coin.

Yes, he's Eli Manning - present Superbowl Champion and MVP .  And thats good enough for me.  So the "4 Superbowls, 3 rings this decade" past tense, haven't-won-it-in-whatever years" is ok when talking about the Pats.  But of course when a Yankee fan brings up the same 4-rings-in-a decade argument to a Sux fan, it rings hollow, since they haven't won since 2000.  Right Strongo?  I know I have seen you use that retort on the Sux/Yanks threads.  So are we trying to have our cake and eat it too?  Nope.  I am pulling that card - who are Champs today?  Not you...thats who - haven't won it in 3 years, buddy

See, I think this proves the opposite point...the same point I mentioned above...that the Patriots will not be a forever associated with the video thing.  Who even thinks about what the Cowboys did years ago anymore?  Sure, back then as a Cowboys fan you must have felt the same hate pouring down on you...but now?  Are the Cowboys forever ruined because of that?  Hell, the Steelers are like the new NFL Darlings, and no one talks about the raging steroid abuse that was going on in the 70's when they were the dominant team.  Honestly, is anyone coming out trying to say the Steelers superbowl wins are tainted becasue of all the juice?  No.  Issues like this fade away after the hype is over.  10 years from now, the Patriots will be remembered as the team that won 3 out of 4 Superbowls in a single decade.  Wait, I meant 4 out of 5 Superbowls...
