My take on game 1?  I wouldn't say we have the Pens right where we want them, but we're not in a bad position.  These are very evenly matched teams.

I hate the Flyers rep, but at the same time, it helps us sometimes.  Teams feel like they have to come out and hit, hit, hit us so we don't hit them.  Montreal outhit us, and were out of position way too much.  A couple times in game 1 the Pens ignored to puck and focused on the hit.  They mostly got away with it, but that's something that can bite you badly.

I can't wait for game 2!  Bigger hits, fewer goals, I think.  Hatcher looked like one pissed off mofo at the end, didn't he?

So richards didnt focus on the hit on Malkin than Gonchar on Malkins shorthanded goal?  I would say the Flyers got bit pretty bad on that one

I wouldn't worry about Hatcher being pissed off, Laraque will handle any crap he dishes out.  Haven't seen the Pens intimidated by Flyers at all.

Bigger hits aren't going to stop Malkin, he seems to thrive regardless of the hitting.  Just remember the Pens won game one on 5 on 5, without the so called Crosby dives giving the Pens PP chances, even though Upshalls dive was priceless.  I imagine, if the intensity is turned up a lot more tonight, the Flyers will be the ones doing it, and they will be called more this time.  A Pens PP on the ice, make the loss of Timmonen even more visible, and life just a little tougher for the Flyers.

I wouldn't worry about Hatcher being pissed off, Laraque will handle any crap he dishes out. Those two are NOT going to fight....ever.  It has nothing to do with toughness or anything like that.  It would be stupid for Hatcher to fight Laraque because Hatcher needs to be on the ice, not in the box.

The Flyers really need the win tonight to put some doubt into the Penguins and actually start making them see a little bit of adversity.  Its been too smooth of a sail for them so far in the playoffs.

That's a concern I have, Tark.

Looks like the Flyers are doing really well on 5-5 but HAVE and i mean HAVE to stay out of the box.
