I am somewhat disappointed to see Rivers go. He was a decent defender (except in the Davidson game), and had good attitude, effort, etc. But with the talent that is coming in, and the existing talent, I have a hard time seeing his minutes doing anything but dropping. So I think he may have made the right call. But I think the team will be fine without him. Sapp, a healthy Chris Wright and incoming Clark will be just fine for us, and will provide more scoring. So thanks for all the effort, Jeremiah. Sad to see you go. I hope you land somewhere where you can start and excel.

he wasnt realy good
and niether was georgetown
i saw when we played them here at home and we won 85-71 and they werent that talented and he was a sucky player i remember me nd friend makin fun of him

Is it just me or has there been a very large amount of players transferring from big-name schools this year?
I agree that it is sad to see him go but he will not be missed very much.

I'm trying to figure out why everyone thinks Gtown will be spectacular next year. I don't care who they have coming in, they lost almost 50% of their offense from a year ago.
I understand Monroe will be a gifted Freshman, but seems to me that Gtown will have to overachieve to be in the top tier of the Big East.
Looks like a rebuilding year
It's very hard to make up for 50% of an offense.

Rivers was a "decent" player, period, who was probably in over his head at Georgetown. Frankly, I was surprised to even see him on the roster for the past two years, and I think his 2.5 ppg bears that out. The writing was on the wall when he couldn't take advantage of the absence of an injured Chris Wright, or disappearing senior Jonathan Wallace. Probably should have gone the mid-major route, though the way he played D against Davidson and Curry makes me wonder. Despite being Doc Rivers' son, it probably wasn't in the cards - or the genes - for him to play high-major ball. Guess the allure of a Georgetown education wasn't enough to make him stay (at least Wallace is going to law school next year, since he was accepted @ G'Town Law).

fishman6581 - your spelling isn't real good either. Nor is your grammar. Rivers was a role player with Georgetown. His job was to play defense. He did a pretty good job of it too. I suppose you and your friend had a good time making fun of him though... that's cool.

Well, sir, I suppose I apologize for my incorrect grammer and spelling. And if his job was to play defense on the opposing teams point guard and your saying he usually did a good job of it then I guess Derrick Rose was just way to good for him
