I agree. I mean...we're not terrible. People just assume the Lions will be bad because they're always bad. I feel like we should be ranked about 23-24 but will even suprise people from there and end up at or above .500, somewhere between 8-8 and 10-6.

We are definitely not that bad. I think that we have definitely improved some from last year so I don't see how we are ranked 29th. Last year, we weren't quite as good as our record suggests, but we were still decent and we should be a tad better this year.

No respect I tell ya!
We are better than the Rams, Bears, Bronco's, Jets, Texans, Bills, and Buccanneers. So I would say we should be 22nd at the very lowest.

with the players that left in the off season
Shaun Rogers, Boss Bailey, damiem woody, Fernando Bryant, Kevin Jones, Kalimba Edwards, and some other guy?
i could see why they would say this ... but for tennessee, cleveland and the Jaguars goin 10-5 and over ... that was not expected of these teams last year but they did it...
now with that said lets look at history ... a great team... is always at a bad spot...a very bad spot ...before they become great> >> the Patriots...who lets face it were horrible for years....as a kid i remember passing through boston and saying it must suck to live here as a kid...there teams suck ....NOW...look who is great ... the football gods are angry ,,, the Lions are due ... and the players that have heart know it ... and the fans that still havent given hope ...believe...
i love espn ... but this time there gonna be wrong MARK MY WORDS

I put us at 17 in my power rankings, defense will be much better, creating all kinds of turnovers. the offense will be more consistent, Kevin Smith will be rookie of the year, and when that happens that means CJ and Roy will be studs this year also. 11-5 baby.

It doesn't matter if the Lions were 7-9 or 2-14 last year, ESPN will disrespect them until they win. I am so sick of those guys talking about us drafting WRs, making fun of Kitna for being confident, and all the other crap they say. But, we have to earn respect from everyone. I thought we went a long way last year before the collapse. But still we should have been in the high teens.

You're better than the Rams and Jets, but that's about it. And there's some guy talking about how they should be ranked in the teens???? You guys want the respect of other fans and the media, you'll need to do better that the 31-81 record you've posted over the last 7 years. This year the schedule is tough for the NFC North with all of the team shaving to play the AFC South (probably the best division in football from top to bottom). The winner of the division will probably only get about 10 wins. Minnesota was better than you last year and they've gotten much better this off-season. Green bay was way better than you last year and they've only lost one player and are still the youngest team in the league. Even the Bears are arguably better than the Lions when they get all their players back from the injuries the defense suffered last season. The Lions are at best a 3rd place team in this division and that's stretching it!!!

Especially the Bears, those guys stink!!!!!
Yeah, the Bears are brutal! LOL
It's funny how you guys think your better than a playoff team from last year (Bucs) when you haven't even sniffed playoffs in this decade!!! Hahahaha!!! Just your "unbiased" opinion though, right?
Lions fans have zero reason to believe that they will be any better than they were in 2007....but you guys just keep on believing. Love the dedication, although this song and dance was heard from the Lions fans last year, the year before that, the year before that, and so on, and so on... I think I'll wait until the Lions finish .500 before I start believing anything....I've only been waiting 7 years for that right?

As every fan should in their team... having hope and stating something as though it were fact are two seperate things however. If the Lions reach the playoffs this year and those other teams do not, then and only then will I consider them better. Until then you can keep hoping for a good season.

Yes, the Lions did beat the Bucs last year with a little help from a couple costly turnovers. But where are you seeing more talent other than WR?

Yeah we should be ranked alot higher then 29th. Espn and their power rankings, bullsh**. The one that cracks me up are the Browns being in the top ten. I don't care underestimate espn just don't jump on the bandwagon when the Lions are winning games. Oh and the Bears fan, the lions beat you twice last year so quit saying how terrible we are. Like a typical bears fan you bring up injuries for a excuse. We had injuries too, so don't use that as a excuse. I guess we'll have to beat you another two times until you admit injuries weren't a factor. Plus the second game you guys were full strength except for Mike Brown so I don't want to hear it.
