First, there was freaking white showing, and Biron pushed it further into the net when he slapped his glove on it. Funny how the replays last night showed it was a goal, but Toronto, who according to Flyers fans, always helps the Pens, disallowed the goal.
Biron was not penalized on the play, that came later in the second period.
Malkin should have been called for the elbow, just like Hatcher should have been called when he Cross Checked Malkin in the head. The refs let some stuff go, and called other weaker penalties, both sides got screwed.
Don't worry I heard the refs received their Flyers Jerseys for game 3 already, all will be well in Flyerland.
First off, Toronto did not OVERTURN the goal. The on-ice call was NO GOAL. Unfortunately, there wasn't ocular proof for Toronto to overturn the on-ice call, even if it appeared like it cross the line. No white ice. No goal.
Second, Biron WAS penalized for the roughing call on Rutuu. Unfortunately, your all-star agitator was also called for diving, which offset Biron's and resulted in a 4 on 4. Clearly, Ruu2tooty interfered with Biron so the tradeoff was a good call.
Lastly, Hatcher WAS called for the cross-check to Malkin's melon. As much as enjoyed the hit, it deserved to be called. Unfortunately, Malkin did not get popped for his blatant elbow on a crouching Briere. Although it left Briere dazed, Malkin got away with it.
Did you even watch the game?
