I normally just read all of these posts and take in what everyone has to say but comparing what the Patriots did to refs paying paid off is so idiotic I had to retort. I am actually shocked that the NFL did not use more disciplinary actions against the patriots knowing they not only taped the Jets but other games including a playoff game. I am not saying the other teams did not do this but it is like Bill Belichick and the Patriots are so arrogant about their championship era and they cheated to get an advantage. It is not like they blew people out, they won three Super Bowls by three points and beat the Steelers by 7 points. How many times have your seen Bilichick praised for his defensive genius, it makes calling defensive plays a whole lot easier when you know what plays the offense is calling. How can you not look at what the Patriots have done and not question the validity of their championship run. Players are being suspended left and right for their off the field decisions they have made because it effects the way people perceive the NFL. This makes people question the integrity of sportsmanship what can be worst then that in profession that is based on it. If I were Roger Goodell I would try and cover this up as much as possible and hope this just goes away because this brings into question the foundation that all sports are founded on, a fair competition where the best team wins!!

"Kordell might have won three super bowls instead of Brady."
ok ok - I get it - You're trying out for SNL or Comedy Central - right? Kordell? You got to be kidding me... The only reason Kordell had mild success in Pittsburgh is because there was a very good team playing around him. What did he do when he left the 'burgh? Nuttin honey...
enjoy,

Regardless of what everybody thinks, to beat the Patriots, you need talent on both sides of the ball, because Brady is one of the best. He's proved it time and time again. I would love to see someone knock his head in, but it's not his fault about what the Patriots did. The league office won't do anything, but you know everyone has their schedule marked for when New England is coming to town!!

This is for all of you idiots that keep saying foolishness like this.....
So how did that tape and editing it after the game exactly help them during the game which would have after the editing already been over? I know they taped the game and sent it into the past right!!!The Patriots would tape the first half of the game, break it down at halftime and then read the signals during the second half. Don't believe me? Go back and look at the games in question, the Patriots are losing in the first half and rally in the second.
For the Patriots fans on this board who agree with the fact that what the Pats did was cheating, big-ups.
To the rest of you who claim it wasn't, I would like to thank your parents for instilling you with good values (yeah, it's called sarcasm).
No matter how the NFL or the Patriots spin this they will never shed the fact that they cheated and tainted their championships.

I am sure that Hines Ward thinking that the Patricheats knew the plays, and the fact that the Patricheats worked very hard to cheat and know the signals for the plays, was just an amazing coincidence. How on earth could knowing what the other team was going to be doing be in any way helpfull? (Please refer to the scene in "Bull Durham" where Kevin Costner tells the other team's batter what pitch is coming next.) How can Coach Bellycheat walk around and not act the least little bit like he is ashamed of what he did? He acts like the rest of the world is being ridiculous at not just letting go of the fact that he is a cheater and has no integrity.

The Steelers will move on from this episode with the Patricheats. Once again, the Rooney's took the high road. Hopefully, once they no longer get competitive disadvantages this way, the Patricheats will eventually plummet back into the slime from whence they came.

Kordell Stewart was effective at what he did best. Once peope started talking to him about his "quarterback rating", which doesn't take into account QB rushing yards and so forth, he concentrated on trying hard to be a classic "pocket quarteback". Which helped him successfully make the transition from a hot product media darling "Slash" great "player", to a mediocre "quarterback" named Kordell. Whomever his agent was at the time, that allowed this to happen to his head, needs to blamed as well.
peyton mannning can't run the ball and really shouldn't try very often. Slash should have done what he does best and not forced bad passes instead of tucking and running.
Watch Vince Young, down in Tennessee, over the next couple of years. see if he goes from a former Rookie of the Year to a QB with more INT's than TD's once he really works on becoming a classic "pocket passer".

To steel a line from the movie Anchorman... Stay classey Steeler Fans.
Look, I hate the Pats. Loosing two AFC championship games.... Adds no love, but I will take up for them now.
All teams, players, and even fans look for an advantage, of any kind. Everyone tries to bend the rules to the max. We all justify it w/ phrases like "bend not break." Examples: The Colts piped noise into the RCA dome against us. Late ninteies Broncos team broke salary cap rules and lost 2 third round draft picks. Herm Edwards addmitted to using stickem in the 80's even after it was banned. DeBartolo's 49's lost draft picks as well..... Steelers (Haslet?) had the steriod issues in the 70's........ LOL, Lawrence Taylor said that he used to send hookers to opposing teams' running backs rooms the night before games. (Examples right from the top of my head. How many more can we add?)
The Patriots bent the rules, and they wound up shattering them. They did gain an advantage, and while it does smudge their accomplishments, it does not take them away. They are still a very, very good team, and I take my hat off to them.
Now having said that..... Our Steelers have the number 1 defense, The NFL's leading rusher, and last but not least, for the first time in 20 yrs, a FRANCHISE QUARTER-BACK! We stay healthy, look out!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the toughest schedule!!!!!! GOOOOO STEELERS!
