I am not having a good post day
1 Corinthians 3:13-16
13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. 16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

On the other hand, isn't the contrary to that message that the people enjoying this life the most will eternally suffer in the next life in hell. It seems to me whether you laugh or not the big story for the eternal next life is one of revenge for those who abstained in this one. Noooooooooo.. not at all :) I see Rookies already explained it very well though ;) Most every Christian I know enjoys this life on Earth each and every day to it's fullest. On the flip side I know many who do all the things many on here seem to feel is 'enjoyment' and are completely miserable. :)

Hey Rookies, I have a couple of points of contention about your post :)
Again, the concept of withholding is to deny yourselfs that which would enslave you. For some it is lust, for others gambling, still others drinking. You are to withhold only that which seperates you from Christ and you are to do it not expecting reward.
I disagree with this completely. You ARE expecting reward. The reward is paradise. Now, if you meant not to expect earthly reward, that is different :)
I like to put it . The ones who embrace salvation and are covered by the blood of Jesus paradise. To those who choose not to accept the gift, willfully accept and embrace damnation.
I disagree with this as well. I doubt anyone willfully accepts damnation. Those who you might say are doing that don't believe in that damnation. Do you think all of those who follow a religion other than Christianity are willfully accepting damnation? They believe that they are in the right, and quite probably that you are the one to be damned.
This is part of what I consider the arrogance often found in religious belief. Because you believe completely that you are right, you look at everyone else's beliefs as though they agree with you. So, anyone who chooses not to follow your god, still somehow believes in that god and the consequences of not following. I expect that if I said because you do not follow Islam, you are willfully accepting damnation, you would disagree with me. To you that belief is false, therefor that damnation does not exist for you to accept. So it is for the non-Christian. We are not choosing damnation, we do not believe in it (at least not Christianity's version). It may seem to be a matter of semantics, but it is in fact a very important distinction.

. Question what could you have done to stop it? Why didn't you do anything?
are you somehow implying that who you ask this question of ,has a god-like power to stop natural disasters?? otherwise, why would you expect anything from him to that capacity??

Yes..

I don't think anyone willfully accepts damnation I said the following

only in response to drops putting people in winner loser brackets. At first I thought his way was more harsh but I do see how this could be seen as the harsher of the two. Sorry if I have offened, I trully don't know a mans heart nor Gods judgment but IMO if you willfullly rejects the gift of eternal life you are probably going to hell.

Point recieved..

How can you blame something that happened on something you don't believe in. Here let me edit his post
In regards to the recent earth quake in China that killed 9000 people... Why did it happen?
1) That which dose not exist hates the communist/atheist Chinese, and decides to teach them a lesson.
2) That which dose not exist wants to use the Chinese as fodder so more people will accept his non existing "omnibenevolence" ;. He kills 9000 people so 900000 people will embrace him.
3) That which does not exist is punishing the entire world for sinning. The Chinese just got the short stick, and there is no particular reason why China was hit.
4) That which dose not exist blesses the USA only because Bush says so.
So if that which dose not exist didn't do it he must have the answer.

certain christian posters on these boards have said that the tsunami and katrina was gods just anger. For them, this is just another example of proof that God exists. For me its proof that if he exists, he is a cruel s.o.b.
