Can anyone enlighten me on what the Mets are doing with there bullpen. Matt Wise is healthy and ready to go, but no where to be found. you have Sosa and Heilman in the pen getting lit up just about every time out, What are they waiting for to make a cahnge. I hope they leave Joe Smith alone he is doing a good job. Interesting to see what they do.

 Lets go Mets.

I am not sure how true it is but report yesterday said that Wise was coming up and Smith was the one being left out...

They also have someone coming up to pitch tomorrow's game, Believe it is Adam Bostick....

These are the games the Mets need to win, against teams they should be beat....I know we keep saying this and we can until we are all blue in the face, but it is the facts....

This team will play .500 ball all season if they win against the lower set of teams....but so far this season they have been just that a .500 team, very medicore....score a bunch one game and them come out and put up 2 or 3, did it against Cincy anbd now against the Nats...

They brought Matt Wise up from Florida and the Mets were planning on activating him on Friday and optioning Joe Smith to AAA. However, the decision got pushed back a day because of the rainout and now they've decided that Smith is pitching too well to be moved back to the minors. In the meantime, they've sent Wise back to Florida.

The tricky thing is that none of the other bullpen pitchers have options so they would need to be place on waivers. Jorge Sosa and Aaron Heilman are not pitching well, but the Mets don't want to lose them. Also, it is not clear what roster moves they will make for Wednesday when they will likely call up a starter from New Orleans. Maybe Sosa can start.

LET'S GO John Maine

I dont want to see Joe Smith go down he is pitching too good. I could care less what happens to Sosa, he sucks. Heilman sucks too, but the Mets will not release or send him down im sure. Get rid of Sosa, just take yesterdays game, after Figueroa was done they bring in Sosa and he cant stop the bleeding, it is so frustrating to watch. Cut him and move on.

 Lets go Mets.

The tricky thing is that none of the other bullpen pitchers have options so they would need to be place on waivers.

That puts the Mets in a very tough position. We need a pitcher that can come in a get the job done on a consistent basis. We all know that not every outing is going to be perfect, but 3 out 5 appearances should suffice, along as you're not blowing a lead in the other two. I don't know how Matt Wise is going show, but he can't do any worse than Aaron Heilman or Jorge Sosa at the present moment. One thing they should not do is let Joe Smith go. He's pitching too well to be sent down.

The only other option is a trade. But who do you trade?

I can't believe my eyes.  When you got Johan I could swear that all the Mets fans anointed themselves the NL champs and now you are talking about Matt Wise.  How sad

Sorry Joe Smith has to be sent down.  He has options, but he is limited in who he can face.  He is a RH specialist, LH hit him hard.
