Bob Huggins underwent precautionary tests and was released from a Charlotte, N.C. hospital on Thursday afternoon, after tripping on an airport tarmac and hitting his head on the pavement.
A West Virginia spokesperson said the school's men's hoops coach attended a fund-raiser in Charlotte Thursday night and was returning to Morgantown, W. Va. with the staff as scheduled.
Earlier on Thursday, athletic director Ed Pastilong said that Huggins had a bump on his head and never lost consciousness.
Pastilong said Huggins and other athletic department staff flew to Charlotte on Thursday morning for a Mountaineer Athletic Club event. After Huggins got off the plane, he was checking his cell phone messages when he tripped over a cone on the tarmac and hit his head.
