Oh yes, and conservative newspapers like the Herald and the Post are made up of irresponsible journalists... Really bothers me that the Herald is such a big part of the Boston media. The Globe absolutely blows it away in terms of competence and credibility.

Irish, where is the substance in your post?
"The commish can say what he wants"?
-Uhh.. I'd say he's a bit more of an expert than you or me... especially a dopey poster like yourself.
"Cry me a river"
-That's what envious Pats haters are doing. They jump on any little thing the Pats do wrong because of their success and then suggest brilliant punishment ideas like forfeiting games and superbowls. (Btw, I would have been fine with a suspension). The thing that bothers me is that the haters act like experts when they're really just angry fans.

The paper apologized because its the defence to defamation. If you take back what you said and say it was wrong, the other side can't sue. Basicaly its eat crow and you save yourself. Its just too bad that a lot of damage was done because of this article.
The fact remains that BB did cheat. Its very unfortunate because he has an excellent team that probably didn't need to. As a Pats fan I think they should have got rid of him after this was first discovered. If not, at the end of the season. They need to turn the page on this.
For the guy who started this stream... Nothing's changed. The rule you posted is big enough to drive a truck through, but its obvious what the rules intention was meant to be. You cannot steal signals to help your team. To say that it only applies to taping during a game for use during that very same game is foolish. You said people never attacked your logic. I say you didn't use any when you posted the rule.
I would argue that BB had a very strong look at the rule in order to come up with a plausable defence to taping signals. It was not ignorance or a misinterpretation. He found a way to get around the rule with out getting punished to harshly.

Regardless of who has what tapes were released or who what analyst says what, the damage to the integrity of the Patriots organization is already done.

Im with ya fju. With the Rams superbowl, we beat them with our defense. Having the rams defensive signals did not help Ty Law pick off a pass and run it for a TD. And our offense didnt do much at all. Our defense shutdown the rams offense. And as for those who say we stole offensive signals, when was the last time you saw a coach or OC signal in a play. They have headsets for a reason. And now we know that we didnt have a walkthrough tape

first who said i was an expert. i wasn't a pats hater until this. you all put a good program together and up until this appeared to have done it the right way. while i find Tom Brady an annoying playboy and probably a hair tougher than a kleenex i do respect what he does on the field.
what aggravates me is the beat your chest arm chair quarterback fan who probably only knows what they read in the papers or hears on the tv. take pride in your team thats great and you should. but dont come off like some pissed off kid.

I wonder what Rep. Alen Spector has to say about all this :O
I'm sure it's going to be more than Goodell's version of satisfaction. There's more tapes than what was originally turned into the NFL. So now they lied again....
I'm sorry, but this will never be put to rest, we all know it, no matter how much you Patriot's fans want it to be over it will never be over.
How many of you were alive during the 1919 Black Sox scandal? How many know about the 8 men out? Shoeless Joe Jackson???
Yeah, none of you, and yet you know about it, it was a huge scandal and it involved a championship. The time frame of the Spygate scandal spans several years and involves several championships. I hope that Kraft does the wise thing and rids himself of Bellicheat. The organization never needed him to win, they were headed in the right direction, they have the players...an average coach suddenly turns into a genius? No, he simply started cheating, and I think it a great discredit to the Patriot's Players, organization and their fans, especially thier fans. Now for the rest of your life's you will have to justify these 3 super bowls as untainted, with the rest of the NFL fanbase saying differently.

*New England Patriots

Why is it that people continue to talk about this issue. Is it because there is new info? NO!! It is because the Media wants to sustain the controversy. ESPN just took a poll asking if SPYGATE was over. The poll showed that it was a 50/50 split betwenn those that believed it was over vs. those that belived it was not over. I voted it was not. I voted that way, not because there was more evidence of further wrong doing by the Pats, but because I believe the Media will continue to fire up the contriversy. Let ESPN ask that question. I believe that I ,and many other people are being manipulated by this so called objective media. I FOR ONE RESENT THIS MANIPULATION. If you do not see this, then you are blind.

First of all, Irish you use more exclamation points than the old batman... lol so don't call me an angry kid.
Secondly, thank you for admitting to not being an expert. Boy, I am not an expert either. Good thing we both agree that Goodell's opinion is more credible than ours...

boston herald and new york times are the same company. i think the new york times owns them so i'm not surprised the boston herald reported it because the Jets were involved. stop with the crap though. it's time to think about football. this story is old and it was taken totally out of context.

Really? That's strange considering that the Herald is infamously conservative while the NY Times is infamously liberal.

The paper had to take back all alligations with this. Next time anything happened in pro sports around Boston the Boston Herald would "accidentally" not get the press release on any major event, therefor being the last to report anything which would turn them into a publishing without the up to the date accurate information. Whether it was true or not, I really don't care. Most people fans in the NFL don't care about the Pats and are more interested in them getting in trouble and that is the only reason they thrive on this stuff. The Boston Herald had to do what it did. If they were right, they grin and bear what the Pat's are making them do. If they were wrong, then the Pats get the apologize that they need and deserve.
Its funny, Pats fans say that this controversy should be over but they jump all over the Colts when they have the chance about the CBS screw up with the sound over the broadcast at the RCA dome. This Walsh story is overwith, nobody cares anymore. I'd rather ready about Women's Tennis than this.

"notice how no one is actually responding to my reason and logic,"
Uhhhhh, maybe because you have none. You appear to be a ranting lunatic, with multiple posts and scattered sentences. I could care less about the Pats or this whole Spygate crap. Every professional sport (and athletes) now "pushes the envelope" on what they can do to get an edge. If they get caught, it's cheating, pretty simple. Who cares, it's just entertainment. Shouldn't you be enjoying the Celtics right now?? LOL
