The government is made up of people just like us. Our society enjoys reading and writing and investigating about the negative issues in life. Its more entertaining. If people were not interested in the Patriots cheating then we would not be writing about it. The Pats are on the the top of the food chain and have been considered one of the greatest organizations in this era and of all time. So the whole Spygate issue will be a hot topic. If they were not successfull then nobody would care. Thats life and this will haunt Kraft, Belicheat and Brady all the way to the Hall of Shame...I mean Fame.

What Jules wrote pretty much sums it up. Arlen Spector needs to go away and do something constructive for a change. Why not conduct an investigation into why we pay so much for gas? Why not do something that would actually do some good for a change? This is a total waste of time, energy,and money. He needs to just shut up.

I swear to God, it is not difficult for other countries to consider America and Americans "idiots" when their government and a SENATOR for Christ's sake are wasting time investigating a sports issue that is already internally resolved. It's an international source of laughter and jest.

Mr. Specter- you say that you owe it to your constituents to conduct this investigation because the Patriots beat your Steelers and Eagles in the playoffs. I am a Patriots fan. They cheated. They got caught. They deserve punishment.
However, sir, with all due respect, I believe that you owe it to your constituents to use their hard-earned tax dollars to conduct an independent investigation into the cost of gas in the United States and the multi-billion dollar profits of the oil companies like ExxonMobil and Shell.
If you go through with this investigation, a thorough waste of the taxpayers' time and money, you deserve to be impeached. What an embarrasment to the American politcal system.
Business as usual in Washington isn't it?

Before you hate the government ... take and economics and history class!
The economy is in a recession becuse Amercians don't know how to save their money. Everything is bought on credit... homes, cars, trips, tv's hell even groceries now! This isn't the governments fault. Control your own spending and reform your own poor spending habits.
Gas prices in the US are still almost the lowest anywhere in the world. Not the governments fault some idiot needs a hummer or and pickup truck to do simple errands. Hummers are for the military and pick-ups are for farmers.. get a clue! Secondly... If you want a peice of the action... invest in oil. oh wait.... can you but stock or mutuals with a credit card!
The fact that there is a war is the perfect reason to investigate the NFL. The war is aboit patriotism and defending a country. Whats the points if the biggest pastime is corrupt and a team called the "Patriots: is leading the way!
Laslty voter turn out in the America is poor. If you voted great... if not.... then shut up!

Dallas hero, while you do have some valid points on economics (poor spending habits) you are wrong about the war. Atleast the Iraq war, it's not about patriotism. It's about greed, no wonder why we are the most hated county in the world. And as far as Hummers and pickups, most of them are American made. Keep buying them. Unfortunately my spending habits won't allow me to buy one.
