i think he needs to be put on the DL, release him isnt going to work because we spent too much money on him, trade him no one want him, in AAA he probably be just as bad, and we can give away wins by keep him

I think we have to at least put him on the DL. IF my memory serves me correctly. Ryan Howard was off to a rough start last year for the Philies. They put him on the DL and let him clear his mind a little and he came back was had a fine season. Now i dont know if that would work for Izzy, but it is worth a shot.

This isn't  just a rough a rough start though.  He has not pitched well in pressure situations for several years now.

He was decent in '04, but he had some very rough sports in key games in '05 particularly down the stretch.  '06 he was flat out horrible. '07 he was decent, but then again, he didn't really have any pressure on him because we didn't compete for the division except for a 2-3 week in August.  We all know how well he has done this year....

He has always allowed to many baserunners, and can't blow a pitch by anyone.

I say release him....only because "Introduce him to Josh Hancock's Bar Tender" wasn't an option!

I want Izzy gone just like the rest of you but tonight I blame it on LaRussa.  This is the first time I have said anything negative about LaRussa.  If you are trying to bring Izzy back and build his confidence, don't throw him on back to back nights.  If LaRussa doesn't make a change with Izzy, MO needs to step in and do it.

i agree with you. Today is LaRussa fault but i think in the mean time send izzy to the DL to clear his head.  I saw that izzy was coming in and i was thinking why bring him in after pitching last night.  I thought TLR said that they were going to give him a break from closing.  I guess that lasted long.
