The guy is a liability in the field, he doesn't hit lefties well and he generally looks disinterested when he's in the game.

Tough break with Keppinger. He had become my favorite Red. Why Dusty had him batting 7th last week.... oh, yeah. I forgot, Dusty's a terrible manager. Now it's time for Gonzalez to play for a change and start earning that inflated contract Krivsky gave him.

They won last night with Griffey in the game and they won tonight with him out of the lineup.  Yeah he dropped and easy fly ball and almost lost another.  Who cares. All that matters is that we win.  He look disinterested because this is a pathetic excuse for a team.  Last year we hit the hell out of the ball but had no pitching and this year its totally opposite.  As soon as he gets these next 3 HR to reach 600 he will be back in Seattle.  I love Griffey and I loved having him here in Cincy.  He caught the injury bug and couldn't shake it. I hope he has a great ending to his career when we send him back out west.

Also: Please don't say your a Dunn fan calling Griffey a liability in the outfield.  That would really make me lose respect for you.

Griffey doesn't hit lefties well? That is odd. His numbers seem to disagree. My favorite Red was Phillips because he is on my fantasy team, but after seeing how he plays I think Ozzie Guillen needs to talk to him, because he's a great player but jeez the guy messes around too much.

And I put Ozzie Guillen there because he's good at firing up players where Dusty is better at talking to Barry to spread the juice.

Don Rey is way off. Griffey hits everybody when he's on. But he's getting up there and he's not on as often. Still, he's the guy teams pitch around.

Keppinger was hitting 7th as protection for Dunn, who was leading the league in walks with Encarnacion behind him. It was a good move. If you walk Dunn you have to pitch to the team's best contact hitter and hottest hitter. Dunn was starting to see more pitches.

Now ... well, everyone else will have to start hitting up to their capabilities. If they do that then they'll weather the time without Keppinger fine.

you don't just catch the "injury bug".  He got injured usually at the beginning of the season, once or twice in spring training.  That's because he came into the season after not working out all off-season.  As he got older, his laziness was taking its toll on him.  I don't know what there is for you to love about Griffey being in Cincy unless you're not a Reds fan.  His best year in Cincinnati was in his first year, 2000, which was his worst year in 5 seasons.  Then he went 3 seasons in a row playing no more than 83 games.  He has brought absolutly nothing to Cincinnati.  And he can go get his 600th elsewhere as far as I'm concerned.  He came to Cincinnati a shell of the player he was from '93 - '99.  Griffey is the biggest aquisition bust in franchise history.

just to clarify, I mean that was his best year since '95 at that point.

After 99, Griffey was thought to be the missing piece.  Not only are they better off without Griffey, they are better off without Dunn.  If they can get something from Seattle, let him get HR 600 there.  NOW IS THE TIME FOR Jay Bruce

Gonzalez is still at the least, a month away from playing.  Hairston is not an everyday shortstop, so the Reds are bringing up Paul Janish.  Janish is a line drive hitter and the .293 he's currently hitting in AAA, is the best he's ever hit.  But he is a defensive whiz, gold glove caliber.  He'll more than likely start most of  the games until one of the SS comes back.

They need to bring up Bailey and drop belisle if he struggles again this weekend. Also, they should just bring up Bruce now and keep Hairston at SS while dropping someone out the bullpen....what you think?
