Let me start by saying I like the moves that the Broncos have made this offseason and I love the Clady pick in the 1st round. Most people seemed to be concerned about the offense with the obvious question surrounding the health of Brandon Marshall's arm. I've even seen people questioning the RB situation which I feel is quite sufficient and deep.  I look at this offense right now and honestly, it looks pretty damn good to me. I hope to God that Marshall's arm heals completely and if it does I think we are deep at every offensive position across the board. The greatest weakness of the 2007 version of the Broncos was run defense. We couldn't stop anyone on the ground and our record reflected it. The success of the Broncos in 2008 will hinge upon the streangth of its run defense. We go out and get Koutouvides and Bailey to replace Gold and move D.J. Williams back to the weak side where he is more effective. We trade for Robertson to play next to Thomas in the middle of the D-Line......I like most of these moves but I think what it all boils down to is the play of Koutouvides. Injuries aside I think this D looks good  across the D-Line and the secondary but MLB looks like it could be a hole again for us and  might  again be our achillies heel. Realisticly, I have to put my faith in Shannahan that Koutouvides will be good enough to start in the middle and I obviously hope it works out for us.

Go Broncos

No it all boils down to the play of our D-line. Do your remember that, that was the reason we lost most of our games because of our poor Dline play. If Robertson, Thomas, and Powell can play well then i think we will be OK. Depending on that if everyone else plays good without injuries then i think we can get back to the defense we had two years ago in the first half of the season.

Our problem last year wasn't just about the D-Line....a good % of the problem was DJ Williams playing out of position. He is not a run stuffing MLB and it reamins to be seen if  Koutouvides can be that type of player. It doesn't boil down to the D-Line because we made upgrades there. Koutouvides is a giant question mark playing an important position in the middle of our D.

I agree with e-love about Koutouvides. Middle linebackers are born not made. DJ didn't have the instincts of a ML, he shot the wrong gap a lot. That being said it is a lot easier for a ML to make tackles when the D-line can handle the o-line consistently.

Let me start by saying I like the moves that the Broncos have made this offseasonDonkey's didn't do jack this offseason except lose your kicker, lose a good WR, and have your other good WR cut tendons in his arm.   And KooKooVideo will be a beast in the middle I'm sure.  Riight.

RB situation which I feel is quite sufficient and deepLOL.  Are you talking about Travis Henry's child support?  Or are you saying that your RB's won't be able to gain a 1st down on 3rd & 3?  Henry is old/oft injured and Young is not even close to a stud.  You have the worst RB situation in the AFC West.  LT, DMC, Bush, LJ are all better than them.  I'd say Young is on par with Fargas... that's why the Raiders upgraded that position.

i guess the Raiders would know the RB position considering thats the only position your loaded at. You only wasted the fourth pick in the draft your only of the first day on a RB even though you guys already have a good RB in Justin Fargas. Good going

Your missing the point.  How is an injury prone player with one 1,000yd season and 4 TDs a good RB?  He may be "suitable" but not someone who has the ability to make big plays.  1,000 yard season only average out to be like 62.5 yards/game.  BIG DEAL.   Stats are overrated.

Why you are a moron.....

How is an injury prone player with one 1,000yd season and 4 TDs a good RB?

Then you write....

.Stats are overrated

Duh....why don't you start a thread and argue with yourself seeing as you are obviously really good at it. What an idiot!

No, you are the moron who can't comprehend simple comparisons..  People say Fargas is good because he ran for 1,000 yards.  Then I said 1,000 yards really isn't that big of a deal because in a 16 game season that only 62 yards/game.  You can get stats to say whatever you want them to say to support your opinion.   That's why they are overrated.
