You can make the bible say anything you want it to say by either A. Taking it out of context by picking out a verse and not relating it to what is actually being said or taught. or B. Just plain mis-interpretation. I deal w/ people like you all the time and all I can say is, I will pray for you. Could you image how many things I could take out of context. BTW amazingly no one has commented on Romans cpt 1, everyone wants to avoid it by going somewhere else. Read it then defend your position. I'll be waiting

I don't view them any differently than my straight friends. I don't view them differently from one another. I don't think their "sin" is any worse than watching tv instead of reading your bible. Or any other of those religious laws one is supposed to live by. To each his own.

If this result really bothers people, then they are bigoted and insecure. What I do understand (but disagree with) are the people who are unsettled by the states not letting the people vote on it. Fundamentally, I do agree with these dissenters, but unfortunately there are people who vote with bigoted, close-minded standards, so when government leap-frogs letting states vote on social issues, I get a sense of satisfaction of seeing the "asshats" being deprived of a say.

The law is not requiring any religions to perform gay marriages. If your specific religion doesn't want to allow gay marriage, then they don't have to. So if somebody gets married outside of your religion, why do you care if they are gay?

The problem was, he said "Let the gays have civil unions" (unless I'm mistaken) which would be unacceptable, as "seperate but equal" is not equal.

The problem, my friend, is you are citing the Old Testament--a civil law (though based on spiritual principles designed to lead to Christ) given to a civil nation, Israel. (You might also note that the sabbath referred to Saturday, not Sunday). When Christ died, the Old Testament was taken away (Col. 2:14; Eph. 2:15; Heb. 8:6-13).
Why...? Was the word of God proven to be incorrect?

Arrogant, NO...... I can say that I make mistakes in my life. but I read my Bible and study it and I can understand plain English. How many interpretations of "The Cat In The Hat" are there.
