It's good to see Bud step up to the plate and hit a home run...too bad he is ten years or more year late.  The best thing for baseball would be for this clown to retire/get fired.  He has done for baseball what poor car manufacturing has done for GM...

Yeah but the Owners love him.  He won't ever be fired, and he will stay in that position until he decides to retire.  He knew about the steroids and HGH epidemic that baseball had and so did the owners.  But the MLB was making so much money that the owners didn't want the address it, and they loved Selig for ignoring it.  Shoot even he was benefiting from it when he owned the Brew Crew.

Me personally?  I think he should be in prison for collusion.  Knowing about all this crap, and not doing anything about it.

If i remember correctly we're down 100 home runs in MLB versus last season...Wonder why?

Could not agree more.  I have to believe there are others that see it the same way.

of course the owners love selig, he allows them to walk all over the fans and to an extent the game itself. undoubtedly it comes from his time as an owner himself, but that is no excuse for the liberties he takes (or gives out).

yes, there are others who feel the same way, but prison is a little hopeful for us fans. my question is this: is there anything in the bargaining agreement that would allow the mlbpa to vote on his removal? that would seem to be the most feasible option in my opinion.

i think that the league should go back to a commish that is completely independent from any particular team, league, or ownership group. obviously they would still have to be a fan of the game, but with as little bias as possible. sure they would be a fan of a particular team (what fan of baseball doesn't root for a team?) but the SHOULD be able to act nuetral.

I pray every night for Kenesaw Mountain Landis to come back from the dead in his full glory and lay condemnation down on this pathetic league.  For those of you who don't know this man... click on this and read how a real commissioner worked.

Nobody wants a commissioner that violated people's constititutional rights and banned them with no proof of the things they were accused of. In this era Landis would have banned players just for being team mates with juicers without any proof that a person ever juiced.

Maybe, you could be right.  He only did that to the "Black Sox" to set an example.  He didn't always rule that way.  I read a interesting book about him from the Sporting News.  He was really good for the game, and did a great job as a commissioner.

I do guarantee you that they would have had a hella strict drug policy though and the players wouldn't even be tempted by the drugs because of fear of being banned.
