You call that a bonehead?
This is a bonehead: Someone who supports a mediocre organization by shelling out $100 per game for 20 games a season, believing that Kevin Lowe won't just run the organization into the ground, but based on his great luck, will actually turn the team into a powerhouse again. This same fan doesn't realize that the management of that same team views them as a pigeon worth plucking because no matter what ridiculous claims they make that bonehead will still shell out $2,000 a year to watch a mediocre product.
I'm sure this same bonehead lived and died by the belief that with a salary cap the field would be leveled and the Oilers would once again return to prominence, because the big bad American teams were just paying for their players, had an unfair advantage over small market Canadian teams, and had no concept of developing hockey talent. But now that the Wings have dashed that hope, that bonehead relies on luck because it turns out, the Edmonton Oiler management doesn't really develop talent after all.
Finally as the last nail in the coffin of that bonehead, they shell out $2,000 a year to watch hockey that is not ruled and guided by skill. Oh no, they pay to go to games in the belief that they will win some games because of make up calls by the refs and they will lose some games on makeup calls. But in the end, it's their $2,000 to blow.
Now that's what I call being a bonehead.
