Even though I've been a Hornets fan since I was a little knee high tyke .. my dad lived in San Antonio his entire life so I grew up partial to the Spurs.  I've never understood why people hated them as much as they did and I've always loved the way they play basketball.  Countless current or former Spurs are on my favorite players lists and I sing Tim Duncan's praises all the time.

But it's not until you actually face the Spurs in the postseason that you truly understand why people hate this team.  Once everything is riding on the line (and I live in San Antonio .. I watch them every game) .. but it's not until you see it when the stakes are high that it really bothers you.  Maybe that's what makes them so good.  They're so methodical that it frustrates your fans and even your players.  I was so angry at the calls last night and also about David West's injury that even I was losing my cool.

So now .. to all who I criticized for bashing the Spurs .. I apologize.

Even with all that said .. they're still the only team on my preferred list and I still like the Spurs.  I just have hated them so deeply for (now) seven games but once this series is over I can go back to liking them.

It'd be a lot easier with a Hornets victory.

But I apologize to Suns fans who I've always chuckled at because I never understood the complaining.

Stop crying and watch the freaking game!  Better yet, move to that half-assed city your team calls home.

The Hornets were simply stupid in the first half of the third quarter.  Go back and watch it.  Even the commentators said they didn't know why the Hornets were getting so upset because every one of those early fouls were good calls.  I mean did David West actually think he was going to get away with slapping across Tim Duncan's arms and not get called?  Did he think they were going to just let him lower his shoulder and run over Duncan who had clearly established position?  Maybe he did... because he was allowed to in New Orleans.

The only one of those calls that was even close was the charge on Chris Paul.  The rest were clear as day! Face it, the Hornets went stupid in the third quarter and the Spurs capitalized on it.

It's so funny how when the calls are going your way, you paint it as "tough play" and "being aggressive". When the other team gets the same freaking advantage that your team has gotten in EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME, you cry like a little bitch. Welcome to Crybaby-Land where you can join your brothers the Phoenix Suns fans.

Now you're seeing why the regular season is important. You need homecourt advantage in the playoffs most years to win.  You can never expect to go into another team's home and win.  To win on the road in the playoffs you have to literally beat the hell out of the home team. Lucky for you, your team has the advantage, so stop whining.

And for every decent Spurs fan there are about 10 texastodd type spurs fans who dont even seem to read your post yet call you out as a whiner, no good NO homer, go back to LA.  Without even considering that in a way you were giving his team a compliment that they are disciplined enough to kick your team in the teeth every year........

The Spurs and Pistons are bad for the NBA ratings-wise.  Sure, they're the most methodical, smart teams in the NBA, but America believes they are boring.  I also agree.  I respect both teams, but am sick of seeing both in the finals.  That's really the only knock on the two teams... I'd never be dumb enough to say that either sucks, but they are boring at times.

People are mainly sick of Tim Duncan's predictable, fundamental moves and his vacant stare.

everyteam has a textodd, w/o them the forums would be too boring. We wouldn't have all these rediculus posts about Spurs being boring, or the "Aloha", or the Who's better, Kobe or Kwame?
