Don't forget that the White Sox pitching is right behind the Tribe's.
They are getting great outtings by Denks, Floyd, Contreaus (please forgive spelling) and Vascaus (Ditto).
The Sox big problem is that as with the Indians the hitters are not giving them any support.
If their pitching holds up I am thinking that this race will go all the way to September. Whoever starts hitting will take this division.

The sox are legitimate. They have good pitching right now, but like he said with the Indians, the sox also are struggling with tthe hitting. And, i also agree with him in that whoever starts hitting first and keeps it going throught the year will win this division. So i really dont know what you mean by his "juice".

June, That was probably the worst spelling I have ever seen of the White Sox pitching staff . Thank god you didn't attempt Buehrle!! I agree with you, that the sox pitching has been a big surprise and looks very good right now: Danks 2.74, Floyd 3.32, Contreras 3.35, Vazquez 3.53. That doesn't even take into account the struggling Buehrle.

I don't think it's a given that they will keep this up, but neither is C. Lee or Laffey....so it could come down to the offense.

are you really comparing the White Sox pitching to the Indians? you must be out of your mind; and this is coming from a yankee fan. denks, contreras, floyd? they have a combined 10-8 record, and are pitching above expectations, wow real impressive. this is being compared to last years cy young winner (CC), the best pitcher in baseball this year (lee), and one of the youngest talents in the game (carmona). Just because your a white sox fan does not mean you have to use zero logic

Michaels

You are no doubt, mentally challeged.  The guy just floated you all the ERA's of  FOUR White Sox starters to your face in the low 3's to mid 3's and you are going to comeback with "the past" in CC's Cy Young and "a young talented prospect" ?  I am confused. What is your argument?

The other really bad comeback was saying those starters are 10-8.  Yes, they are 10-8 because of the LACK OF HITTING.  Look at the numbers Special Ed boy and you'll see a lot of 2-0, 4-1, 1-0, 5-2 type games where no hitting helped the White Sox.

Get a clue before you rant around.  Kid is throwing stats out, and you are blind.

Cliff Lee is outstanding this year for sure.  CC has been HORRIBLE, but is looking to form lately, and Fausty is still young (LIKE DANKS) who are both good young arms.

So BEAT IT!

Dutch, you are obviously confused.

The past with C.C.? Last 5 starts he has a what, 1.49 ERA?

Fausto is a 'prospect'? He finished 3rd in the Cy Young voting and is dominating.

Look, the White Sox have good young pitching and it is definitly something to be proud of. But I think his point was the Indians have great young pitching, the best rotation in baseball with currently the best pitcher, and nobody can compare, not the White Sox.

Nobody can try to compare to Clevelands. A starting rotations ERA under 3? Are you serious?! In the AL?! An All-Star rotation might not have that!

The White Sox pitching is good.  The Indians pitching is better right now.  Danks and Floyd are not pitching above expectations.  They are now pitching to expectations.  Vasquez has been great and Contreras has been solid.  Only our Lefty has struggled.

I trust this pitching staff to continue to be good (not great).  If the Sox hitting catches up then we will see a good race with the Indians.

BTW, what do Yankee fans know about starting pitching.  They pay over $200 million a year just to get dumped out of the playoffs on an annual basis.  I don't think their pitching will even get them to the playoffs this year.

The problem with the White Sox is their hitting... but, I don't see it getting any better.  They did this least year too!  The Sox score runs when they hit HR's... and that's about it.  With Paul Konerko, Jim Thome and Jermaine Dye in the middle of the order... that's all we can expect this year... and until Kenny makes some major moves, this is what we have to look forward to.  A bunch of "old" slow guys, not hitting their weight... with 25 HR's.  I like what Kenny has done... with John Danks and Gavin Floyd... hope to see Lance Broadway get some starts in the bigs this year too!  He is killing it in Charlotte!  These three young studs are the future of this pitching staff!  Now, we just need to get some guys that can hit for average and have some speed in the lineup!

My predicted AL Central final standings (based on current rosters):

  1. Indians
  2. Twins
  3. White Sox
  4. Tigers
  5. Royals
